Partner Success Manager

About Us

Leap’s mission is to combat climate change by enabling a reliable electric grid that runs on clean energy. We play a crucial role in opening up wholesale energy markets to all distributed energy resources, enabling our partners to get paid for providing flexibility to the grid.

At Leap, we believe in cross-functional collaboration, creative thinking to solve complex problems, and job enrichment. We are a mission-driven organization. Not only will your impact be felt within the day-to-day operations; together, we have the ability to make the world more sustainable and greener.

Leap is a privately held tech company with funding from top VCs and well-known energy entrepreneurs. Our core operations are in the San Francisco Bay Area and Utrecht (NL), but we are a distributed workplace with teammates based in Atlanta, Austin, Boston, Boulder, New York City, Washington, DC, and beyond. This is a 100% remote position.

If you have more experience than is reflected here, that’s great! We’ll be pleased to exercise your broader/deeper skill set. We value inclusion and welcome diverse viewpoints.

Who are we looking for?

We’re seeking an experienced professional to manage Leap’s partnerships with energy developers, aggregators and technology providers. As a Partner Success Manager at Leap, your focus will be on delivering value to Leap’s existing partners, maintaining healthy and positive partner relationships, and finding new ways to expand partner business across new markets, programs and customers.

The Partner Success Manager’s responsibilities and activities will be dynamic and varied, spanning partner relations, energy market operations support, energy and financial modeling and business development.

Here’s what we hope you’ll bring:

  • Enjoy managing relationships with external stakeholders in partner organizations to understand their business models, needs, and requirements and to identify new opportunities for expanding our partnerships
  • Possess strong project management, analytical and technical abilities - including a deep understanding of software, financial modeling, and energy data analysis
  • Ideally (not required) have expertise in renewable energy project development, energy management solutions or wholesale energy markets
  • Are a strategic thinker who can also dive into the details and loves to problem solve
  • Have an ability to prioritize, juggle and execute tasks with an eye on delighting our partners and growing our value as a business
  • Enjoy working collaboratively in a team with a diverse group of amazingly talented and fun people, but you are also capable of working independently in a fast-paced startup
  • Have 2+ years of experience with account management or customer success

In this role you will:

  • Activate new partners
    • Work closely with Business Development to ensure a smooth onboarding process for partners and their end customers to integrate with Leap’s platform.
    • Ensure strong understanding of partner business models, needs, and requirements and agree with the partner on a growth strategy and meter activation plan.
  • Deliver value to existing partners
    • Work closely with Platform Operations, Product and Markets teams to support partners’ energy market participation across markets - enrolling new customer meters, sizing and optimizing market nominations and bidding strategies, dispatching and testing energy assets and supporting partners to understand and diagnose performance to ensure optimal performance
    • Focus on delivering on contractual obligations and optimizing value for your portfolio of partner accounts
  • Maintain healthy partner relationships
    • Develop and maintain strong partner relationships, deepen and diversify Leap’s reach within partners by managing the connection of Leap touchpoints with key partner stakeholders, and identify opportunities to delight our partners
    • Ensure strong retention and ongoing renewal of partner business while reducing energy asset/customer-level churn
    • Identify ways that Leap’s partner can benefit from Leap’s ecosystem, such as marketing support, collaborating on co-marketing or thought-leadership opportunities, connecting with other partners, etc.
  • Grow partners’ meters and capacity participating on Leap’s platform
    • Develop and maintain growth plans, identifying opportunities to drive growth within existing markets or expanding to new markets as well as identifying key risks/blockers for growth.
    • Actively pursue revenue growth opportunities across new customers, programs or markets in line with company goals and PSM targets
  • Scale and improve Leap’s ability to manage partner business
    • Collect and synthesize insights and input from our partners to provide product feedback to our product/engineering teams and improve product development and sales strategy
    • Develop internal and external systems, processes and content that will enable streamlined delivery of services and an exceptional experience to our partners

What’s it like to work at Leap?

Product: At our core we are a tech company. We love technical challenges and build things that we are proud of and would like to use ourselves. Everyone is highly involved in building and designing our products, making them extremely valuable and a pleasure to use.

Purpose: Some of us worked in energy before, some of us haven’t. All of us would like to make a difference and do our part in helping the world move towards a more resilient grid run on renewable energy.

Fun: We work hard, but enjoy our time at work as well as outside of work. With the team spread out over multiple time zones we also embraced flexibility early on, and are focused on results instead of time spent in the office.

We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status. We will ensure that individuals with disabilities are provided reasonable accommodation to participate in the job application or interview process, to perform essential job functions, and to receive other benefits and privileges of employment. Please contact us to request accommodation.
