Pathologist Assistant

Unit: Pathologist Assistant

Typical day:

• Average specimen count is around 20 gross examinations per day.
• Continual frozen section activity.
• Consults with pathologist and peers on casework
• Dictation by Voicebrook PRO
• No autopsy

Equipment used:

• Able to perform work in a mopec grossing bay
• Use of typical grossing equipment: scalpel, etc
• LIS: Cerner Millennium Pathnet (not copath)
• Leica Cassette printer

Specific Experience:

• Breast pathology
• Women’s health pathology
• Biopsies
• GI cases
• Placenta
• Frozen Sections

Certification Requirements: BA or BA Medical Laboratory Technology, biological or chemical science, NY state license

Assignment Length: 10 or 13 weeks

Start Date: ASAP

Job Type: Contract

Pay: Up to $3,105.00 per week
