Job Description: Patient Registration Specialist
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
Job Summary
As a Patient Registration Specialist, you play a crucial role in ensuring that all patients receive accurate and efficient registration for hospital services. Your primary responsibility is to gather and process registration, billing, and related information from patients in various areas, including Admissions, Outpatient, Radiology, and the Emergency Department. You will also verify patient insurance coverage and benefits to facilitate a smooth billing process. Additionally, you will actively engage with patients and their families to review the registration process and flow, ensuring they have a positive and welcoming experience at the Hospital.
Key Responsibilities
Accurately and efficiently register patients for hospital services in various departments, including Admissions, Outpatient, Radiology, and the Emergency Department.
Gather and process essential information from patients, ensuring all required data is complete and accurate.
Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits, working closely with insurance providers to facilitate timely and accurate billing.
Engage with patients and their families, providing guidance and support throughout the registration process.
Review the registration process and flow with patients, addressing any questions or concerns they may have.
Ensure compliance with all hospital policies and procedures related to patient registration and data collection.
Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to data protection regulations.
Collaborate with other hospital departments and staff to streamline the patient registration process.
Stay updated on relevant regulations, policies, and best practices in patient registration and healthcare administration.
Requirements
Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)A combination of relevant education and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Experience: 3 Years of experience in a related role (Required)Successful completion of a TUH/TUHS sponsored training/internship program may be considered in lieu of experience.
Certifications: None required but any relevant certifications in healthcare administration or patient registration are a plus.
COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement:All placements at Temple Health either need to be vaccinated or have an agency approved medical or religious exemption for COVID-19.
