JOB SUMMARY:
This position is primarily responsible for the coordination of scheduling of procedures and services between Surgical Service departments and the Anesthesia Department. The Patient Scheduler is the primary point of contact between the Perioperative Business Office and physician’s offices in the scheduling of elective and non elective surgery. The incumbent is expected to prepare, enter, correct, colligate, and assimilate information and data that will support the organization. This position interfaces with vendor representatives, surgeons, offices, and staff to ensure that all equipment, items, instruments are coordinated for surgical procedures in collaboration with perioperative forecasting. Responsible for performing other duties as required or assigned to support the Perioperative Business Office.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION
High school diploma.
EXPERIENCE
Working knowledge of medical terminology required.
One-year prior surgical scheduling experience preferred.
