Job Summary
The Comprehensive Musculoskeletal Center has an opening for an experienced, self-motivated, team orientated Patient Services Intermediate. This role will be to provide skilled support and work collaboratively with other members of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, Orthotics & Prosthetics and Physical Medicine and Rehab.

Responsibilities*
This position will be a hybrid position working remote and onsite, with the onsite location being at the Huron Valley Professional building, South Main Orthopaedic Clinic. This position will support the following clinics: Orthopaedic Surgery, Taubman Ortho, South Main Ortho and Medsport, Orthotics & Prosthetics and Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (Adult &Peds).
The successful candidate will be required to actively participate in the department?s Lean initiatives, Service Excellence programs, maintain Cornerstone compliance, specific procedure competencies and knowledge of regulatory agency requirements.
This position will include a variety of patient support tasks including but not limited to:
? Transcribe external referrals into the EMR system.
? Process medical documentation and upload to the appropriate EMR system.
? Coordinate medical records for patients, physicians and staff by uploading into chart or sending through fax server to HIM for processing.
? Provide customer service to referring providers, Michigan Medicine staff and faculty, and other healthcare professionals via multimedia communication channels.
? Provide expertise in navigating grid openings and closures and template redesign changes.
? Effectively address urgent template closures and reschedule patients utilizing scheduling tools independently.
? Create template request forms for any needed template changes or new providers and request them through the service now cadence tickets.
? Provide formal training/onboarding to clinic schedulers on scheduling guidelines and functionality of scheduling tools.
? Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications*
High School diploma or equivalent 3-4 years experience in customer service setting Adhere to high standards of teamwork by demonstrating adaptability, dependability, flexibility, and consistently sharing information and resources with others Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to work well within a team setting. Communicates effectively. Demonstrates active listening, written, verbal and information technology skills.
Desired Qualifications*
? Six months previous experience working in an ambulatory or acute care setting.
? Previous experience working with MiChart/Epic care/Cadence as well as knowledge of Michigan Medicine policies and procedures is helpful
Work Schedule
Monday - Friday 8am to 4:30pm (except for meetings or coverage when necessary). We utilize flex scheduling to off-set hours worked in excess of 8 hours in any one day.

Background Screening
