This position will also focus on creating and developing cloud networking solutions, ensuring we can efficiently meet the needs of our internal customers. As a cloud network engineer, you will work with cutting-edge cloud technologies in GCP, AWS, and Azure, as well as an on-prem global backbone and load balancing platform in a truly hybrid multi-cloud environment.  Meet Our Team:  The infrastructure Platform engineering team designs, delivers, and operates large-scale private and public cloud infrastructure for PayPal development and production environments. This is one of the largest hybrid cloud infrastructures in the world and runs on multiple technology stacks.The Global Network Services team, part of the Infrastructure platform, is responsible for the architecture, design, and development of a global network to enable PayPal to serve customers in 200 countries worldwide. We are the team responsible for delivering a global network footprint to deliver uninterrupted services to our customers. As part of our next-generation network transformation journey, we are seeking seasoned, passionate, and multi-faucet candidates to join the Global Network Services team at PayPal.Your Way to Impact: You will influence some of PayPal's key decisions on building scalable multi-cloud networks, adoptions, best practices, and efficiency programs as we expand into the hybrid multi-cloud environment. You will also be instrumental in ensuring PayPal’s customers and partners have highly available, secure, and low-latency network connectivity for various internal and external applications. You will provide a great customer experience to hundreds of internal PayPal teams and external partners.Job Description:Your Day to Day: • Participate in backbone network design/architecture for on-prem and public cloud migration.• Design and build hybrid connectivity between on-prem and public clouds with advanced knowledge of interconnectivity options.• Participate and own the delivery from the Network team for PayPal’s infrastructure organic growth and business requirements.  • Drive detailed definitions of feature requirements through discussions with product managers and customers. • Work with vendors, clients, carriers and technical staff on network implementation, optimization, and ongoing network management. • Produce work breakdown structures and plan to execute complex network changes, migrations, and upgrades to avoid service impact. • Create and define network engineering best practices, documentation, and building MOP & SOP. • Review network capacity and develop plans to meet current and future demand. • Provide high-level support and technical expertise in networking technology, including LAN/WAN hardware, routers, switches and firewalls. • A Positive "can do" attitude with the ability to articulate thoughts and ideas and see them to fruition.     What You Need to Bring: • 8+ years of network experience in managing large-scale global networks, preferably in the financial network space. • Experience with one of the Public Cloud network Environments – AWS/ GCP/Azure. • Requires in-depth knowledge of cloud network engineering. • Deep understanding of AWS/GCP/AZURE services like VPC, Direct Connect, Transit Gateways, VPN. • Hands-on experience in implementing Cloud routing & Hybrid Interconnectivity Architecture. • Deep working knowledge of networking technologies, including Layer-2 and Layer-3 protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF/IS-IS, MPLS) and network virtualization (VRF). • Hands-on experience configuring Cisco, Juniper network routing and switching devices. • Experience in Big IP F5, HA proxy load balancing technology.• Experience in interfacing with carriers for peering, circuit delivery, troubleshooting and migration. • Experience in network design, operations and troubleshooting methodologies • AWS or GCP Network Certification is a huge plus • Automation & scripting Experience, preferably in Python and Terraform • Bachelor’s in computer networks/science or relevant technical field Additional Job Description:Subsidiary:PayPalTravel Percent:0For the majority of employees, PayPal's balanced hybrid work model offers 3 days in the office for effective in-person collaboration and 2 days at your choice of either the PayPal office or your home workspace, ensuring that you equally have the benefits and conveniences of both locations.Our Benefits:At PayPal, we’re committed to building an equitable and inclusive global economy.
