What You’ll Do:

  • Update Kronos Time off requests for California
  • Prepare fringe benefits contributions for Syar and USCR
  • Submit the electronic payment request to treasury and follow up on payment submissions
  • Forward PDF copies to the union trust
  • Correspond with the HR department regarding Kronos pay rules, fringe exceptions, and retro payments
  • Correspond with the union trust on fringe benefits inquiries for employee exception
  • Collaborate with HR to track health and welfare employee extensions and waivers
  • Review California vacation policy and modify configurations if necessary
  • Partner with CA Payroll Manager in Kronos configuration changes after Labor Contract renewals and extension
  • Assist in running payroll reports for various department manager
  • Assist in answering day-to-day Kronos payroll questions (ex. Employees not accruing vacation at the correct rate and shift differentials not populating correctly)
  • Partner with HR to review Kronos upgrades and training material/tools
  • Partner with Payroll Manager in creating retro calculation templates for fringe benefits and union annual increases
  • Partner with HR to uniform Kronos pay codes
  • Update wage profiles for legacy union increases
  • Partner with California Payroll Manager on configuration and compliance of payroll laws and CA regulations

Skills You'll Need:

  • Intermediate Excel skills
  • Ability to interpret union contracts
  • Knowledge of California law payroll laws
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Be able to think outside of the box
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and work with highly sensitive data and information
  • Ability to produce work support with clear visuals
  • Kronos Knowledge, a plus
  • 3-5 years of Payroll experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience of 5+ years
  • Experience working with labor unions is preferred
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and be flexible
  • Multitasker
  • Must be fluent in the use of prevailing technologies (e.g. Kronos, Excel)

Salary Range: the base salary range for this role is between $80K - $100K. This range is not inclusive of our discretionary bonus or equity package. When determining a candidate’s compensation, we consider a number of factors, including skillset, experience, job scope, and current market data.
