LaunchDarkly is looking for Payroll Manager to own the global payroll process and help with special projects. You will report to the Assistant Controller, manage US multi-state payroll and supervise our payroll service providers internationally. You will also be a key partner to the People team and other team to create scalable processes and controls to manage payroll risk. You will thrive in an every changing environment where partnership and problem solving skills are critical to providing business support for LaunchDarkly's expansion.
Responsibilities:
Manage the day-to-day payroll operations ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing (including payroll for multiple states, Europe, Australia, Canada and UK) in a high growth organization
Support international payroll service providers and manual administration for payroll needs as necessary
Ensure compliance with local, state, federal regulations, and international locations
Partner with with the People team to ensure consistency of personnel records, pay, benefits, etc.
Drive process standardization, automation, and continuous process improvement to ensure effectiveness
Identify areas of improvements and efficiencies by partnering closely with the People team and other stakeholders to establish best practices for global payroll
Partner with Assistant Controller to ensure accurate general ledger reporting and reconciliations
Project lead for payroll related projects, including continuous development of processes that are scalable and support our growth
Hire and mentor payroll staff
Basic Qualifications:
3+ years relevant Payroll specialist experience, preferably in a fast paced tech space
Experience with Payroll systems like Namely, UKG/UltiPro, ADP, Workday or other comparable systems
Experience / knowledge of US federal and state tax regulations
Experience / knowledge of international payroll / tax regulations (Europe, Australia, Canada and UK)
Experience providing audit support (workers compensation, 401K, tax, financial statement)
Strong Excel skills (can maintain complex spreadsheets & perform complex functions)
Experience with equity compensation and tax matters (including Carta stock administration system)
Experience with ex-pat taxation preferred
Experience with NetSuite ERP is preferred
Accuracy and follow-up skills with ability to identify and resolve problems
Ability to work well with minimal supervision and manage multiple priorities in a team environment
