About the role

We are looking for a Payroll Staff Accountant to help support the continued expansion of our payroll function. The Payroll Staff Accountant role is responsible to process appropriate accounting entries for domestic and international payroll to the general ledger. In addition they are part of the payroll team compiling, recording and processing employee time and payroll data for all domestic/international employees on a bi-weekly/monthly payroll period.

Responsibilities

• Support the Payroll Manager in processing payroll, reconciling payroll data and ensuring related tax compliance across all markets, including the US, Australia, Singapore, UK, and Japan on a bi-weekly, semi-monthly and monthly basis
• Partner with the People Team in employee onboarding and offboarding, contract reviews, policy reviews and work flow implementations and improvements
• Support the Payroll Manager and work with the Sales Operations team on bonus, commission, severance and off-cycle payment processing and compliance
• Work with Support Operations function to streamline processes and ensure operating efficiency and accuracy
• Maintain employee database integrity to ensure accurate data across all payroll systems
• Support ERP and technology upgrade projects related to payroll as required
• Manage and administer stock compensation schemes and related compliance
• Assist in documenting workflow and work procedures
• Assist in producing reports for internal and external auditing purposes
• Serves as primary point of contact regarding time and attendance and expense policies and procedures
• Assists with preparation and submission of required state filings, tax returns and ad-hoc payroll tax requests
• Serves as primary contact for staff regarding time and expense policies and conducts orientation to new employees regarding time and expense policies and procedures

Requirements

• 1+ years related business work experience in compensation, HR, or Finance
• Process oriented in nature with strong workflow management skills and excellent attention to detail
• Knowledge of payroll functions including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes
• Experience with global markets desired, Australia a plus
• Experience in a high-growth technology environment a plus
• Experience with Workday and ADP is a plus but not required
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
