The Role

We are looking for a VP of Engineering reporting into the CTO to lead our engineering department and help us build great products. You’ll also manage our infrastructure and ensure all internal systems operate securely and effectively. 

To be successful in this role, you should be confident in managing development, QA, and DevOps teams, running agile development processes, as well as planning and executing strategic engineering roadmaps. We expect you to be in charge of our integrations with external partners and teams. You will oversee all software development from ideation to delivery.

Ultimately, as Peek grows, you’ll make sure we continue to run and scale an efficient and innovative engineering team while maintaining high levels of quality for our customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Work directly with the CPO and CTO on project prioritization and execution

  • Oversee all development, QA, and DevOps teams and their projects

  • Manage processes to optimize execution and team happiness

  • Drive scaling of the engineering team, including integrating new teams

  • Develop strategies for key engineering initiatives

  • Manage projects by setting requirements, goals, and timelines

  • Manage department budgets and hiring strategies

  • Build out career pathing for the Engineering org

Requirements:

  • 15+ years of experience in software development

  • 10+ years of management experience and established leadership skills

  • Managed multiple teams of at least 30 engineers total

  • Experience leading and mentoring senior managers and directors

  • Experience managing remote teams

  • Detail oriented, able to dive deep into technical areas and assume leadership if necessary

  • Extensive experience with SaaS technologies and software development

  • Experience working with QA and DevOps teams

  • Good understanding of agile best practices

  • Excellent project and time management skills

  • Experience managing remote teams

  • Experience leading a global team

  • A mix of experience working at startups and larger organizations
