Penguin Random House is looking for an enthusiastic and driven Publicity Assistant to join our Publicity team! As an integral part of our team, the Publicity Assistant will have the opportunity to develop their skills in a high-energy environment. The ideal candidate will be a creative self-starter with a passion for the book publishing industry and a desire to learn, grow, and be successful.To... be successful in this role, applicants must possess strong organizational and communication skills, be detail-oriented, and have the ability to juggle multiple tasks and prioritize. A strong knowledge of social media and current trends in the industry is preferred. The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment is essential. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, or a related field. Previous experience in a publicity role is a plus.
Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain relationships with media contacts, authors, and other stakeholders in the book publishing industry.
Create compelling and engaging content for press releases, promotional materials, and other publicity initiatives.
Assist with the coordination and execution of publicity campaigns and events.
Manage promotional materials such as press kits, author bios, and book summaries.
Monitor and report on the success of publicity campaigns.
Stay up to date on current trends in the book publishing industry and in social media.
Maintain accurate records of all publicity efforts.
Collaborate with the Publicity team to ensure the success of campaigns.
Assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling meetings, processing invoices, and tracking expenses.
