The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and submitting construction estimates based on drawings and specifications and rough order of magnitude estimates based on concept designs.This position responsible for estimating the electrical portion of major renovation and renewal projects. The successful candidate will also possess a basic knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in other aspects of the construction or renovation processes. The position assists project coordinators and project managers with project development; provides design estimates for feasibility studies and conceptual designs for developing customer and internal budgets.Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:• Prepare estimates for projects using software and interfaces to transfer estimate data to data management systems in accounting, scheduling, and project management; prepare working folders, purchase orders, and other required information necessary for the proper execution of the work• Coordinate with project supervisors and field personnel in handling constructability issues; evaluate, and determine proposed field changes and estimate change orders• Make site visits; Monitor and inspect the work in progress to assure that work is being performed as planned, and in compliance with safety codes and safety regulations• Create budget estimates for feasibility studies• Maintaining relationships and interacting with clients, design professionals, Project Leaders, Supervisors and Tradesmen, Department Heads, Budget Administrators, and Facility CoordinatorsOPP is a part of Penn State's Finance and Business Organization.
