Observability Engineer

Observability Engineers focus on proactive monitoring, leveraging telemetry data to detect anomalies, identify potential issues before they impact users, and enable faster incident response. They are crucial in ensuring system availability, reliability, and user satisfaction. Our Observability team at Performance Technologies is responsible for analyzing, designing, consulting, implementing, and supporting end-to-end Observability Solutions to our Enterprise customers.

We are seeking talented and motivated Observability Engineers to join our dynamic team. As an Observability Engineer, you will play a crucial role in empowering our observability capabilities, ensuring that we have the necessary tools and processes in place to monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize the performance of our customers’ applications and infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare, implement, and help customers operate appropriate Observability software tools for various projects. 

• Diagnose client issues, recommend, and undertake investigative solutions.

• Technical pre-sales work, attending meetings, designing, documenting, and presenting solutions.

• Running Proof of Concept engagements with clients.

• Assist colleagues in the completion of projects, meet deadlines and client expectations.

• Investigate new software technologies in a lab environment.

• Maintain an up-to-date knowledge in IT, specifically with the Infrastructure, Databases and Applications’ Health and Performance Monitoring arena.

• Either Development, Applications, Databases, Network, Systems - on-premise and Cloud (Azure, AWS, IBM Cloud, Google Cloud) - software knowledge, or a solid background in IT and the willing to dive deep in ITOM, CMDB, ITSM and Automation areas.
• Feeling comfortable in configuring and maintaining software computing infrastructure.

• Unix/Linux and/or Windows OS engineering skills.

• Create scripts and assist in any of Shell, Python, PowerShell or such scripting languages.

• Databases and SQL knowledge.

• Especially interested for any expertise in Observability tools like Dynatrace, ServiceNow CMDB & ITOM, OpenText uCMDB, OpsBridge ex. HP/HPE/Micro Focus (OMi, OBM), Microsoft Operations Manager (SCOM), VMware vRealize (vROps), Zabbix, Nagios, ManageEngine OpManager, IBM, BMC.

• BSc in Computer science or related discipline.

• Fluency in Greek and English.
