As a Mechatronics Technician, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of industrial plant equipment at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard in Norfolk, VA. Working with a team of best-in-class electrical and mechanical virtuosos, you'll be helping keep our naval forces at peak readiness.
Your responsibilities will include conducting comprehensive onsite assessments, implementing preventative maintenance strategies, and providing expert troubleshooting support for mechanical and electrical systems. You'll leverage your years of knowledge of PLC controls, machine tools and electrical/electronic systems to oversee technical aspects of preventative maintenance, repair and overhaul of over 500 machine tools and industrial plant equipment. Additionally, you will provide expert assessments and training to customers' maintenance personnel, while maintaining accurate electronic service reports. Your proficiency in Microsoft Office products, combined with your strong communication and interpersonal skills, will be essential for building successful relationships with customers and colleagues. Finally, your understanding of metal cutting and fabrication techniques will contribute to your overall technical expertise.
