Position Summary: Apogee Physicians is the largest, entirely physician owned and led Hospitalist group in the nation. Apogee’s success is attributed to our dedication to its grassroots mission: What’s best for the Patient is best for the Practice™. We are looking to add a Physician Relations Specialist to our team. The Physician Relations Specialist is responsible for recruiting top Hospitalist Physician and Advanced Practice Providers to Apogee. The focus is on hiring the best candidates in an efficient, timely manner. We are seeking high achievers that thrive working independently and as part of a team to achieve performance objectives.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
· Work closely with physicians and senior administrative leadership to fully ascertain staffing needs and candidate qualifications.
· Prospect candidates utilizing a variety of recruitment methods including, but not limited to networking, marketing campaigns, conferences, referral, cold calling, social media and online search tools to source and recruit.
· Procure ideal candidates by matching Apogee program facility and community offerings to candidate’s professional and personal goals and strengths.
· Maintain relationships to grow a database and network of qualified resources for new and exciting business.
· Complete initial quality screening telephone calls and guide qualified candidates through the application and interview process.
· Education candidates by providing detailed information regarding Apogee’s regional national opportunities, employment terms, compensation plans and benefits, hospital specifics and community facts.
· Coordinate the on-site itinerary for candidates which include transportation and lodging accommodations as well as the interview with hospital and physician stakeholders.
· Serve as the primary contact for candidates throughout the recruitment process including the on-site interview, contract offer and negotiations, relocation and on-boarding process.
· Conducts follow up with newly hired physicians and Advanced Practice Providers at regular intervals to provide support and address concerns. Participates in the development and implementation of strategies to enhance physician retention and satisfaction.
· Represent Apogee at national career fairs, association conferences and other meetings to network with Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers.
· Perform related work and special projects as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
· Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Psychology or other relevant area.
· Professional recruitment experience with a track record of implementing successful recruitment, selection, and development strategies. Healthcare experience preferred.
· The ability to work independently and in a team environment, meet deadlines and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
· The ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
· The ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of business significance.
· Be highly organized and able to prioritize, with a great attention to detail.
· Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing.
· A solid work ethic and self-motivation to exceed goals.
· Negotiation and closing capabilities as well as ability to have difficult conversations.
· Capacity to work under pressure to resolve unexpected and unanticipated problems.
· Strong proficiency in technology skills, including but not limited to MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) internet, email, etc.
· Moderate domestic travel is required (10%)
