Description: PingWind is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Database Engineer to join our dynamic team. As Senior Database Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our organization's database systems. This role requires expertise in database architecture, optimization, performance tuning, and data security.
Location: Fort Knox centric (REMOTE)
Required Clearance: TS
Required Education: Master’ s Degree in relevant field
Required Experience: Ten+ (10+) years of relevant experience
Responsibilities:
· Develop and implement database schemas, stored procedures, functions, triggers, and other database objects using best practices and standards.
· Expertise in relational database management systems (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra).
· Proficiency in database design, SQL programming, performance tuning, and optimization techniques.
· Experience with database clustering, replication, high availability, and disaster recovery solutions.
· Strong understanding of data security principles, access controls, encryption, and regulatory compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
· Familiarity with cloud-based database services (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is preferred.
· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and the ability to troubleshoot complex database issues.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with team members, stakeholders, and vendors.
Requirements:
· Design and architect database solutions to meet business requirements, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.
· Optimize database performance through indexing strategies, query optimization, database tuning, and hardware configuration.
· Implement and maintain high availability and disaster recovery solutions, such as clustering, replication, mirroring, and backup strategies.
· Implement and enforce security measures to protect sensitive data, including access controls, encryption, and auditing, to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
· Monitor database health, diagnose performance issues, and perform routine maintenance tasks, such as backups, restores, and upgrades.
· Assess database capacity requirements, plan for scalability, and recommend hardware and software upgrades as needed to support growth.
· Develop scripts and automation tools to streamline database administration tasks, such as deployments, monitoring, and maintenance.
· Create and maintain technical documentation, including database schemas, architecture diagrams, and operational procedures. Share knowledge and provide mentorship to junior team members.
Preferred Qualifications: AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, CEH, Oracle Certified Professional, Java SE Developer, Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate
