Material Industrialization Engineer
OPPORTUNITY
The Michelin Sandy Springs facility has an immediate opening for a candidate wanting to work in a manufacturing environment for a top-rated employer in the Upstate.
This person will be provided a great environment to learn and develop their competencies which will open many paths for long term career opportunities with Michelin.
MISSON:
  • Work with Central R&D teams to help bring new materials (rubber compounds, Metallic/Textile Tissues, raw materials) to Market
  • Responsible for defining and optimizing the best manufacturing processes for new materials to ensure they meet Michelin Quality Standards and Manufacturing efficiency needs
  • Manages change inside of the local plant related to material and process evolutions (Risk/Gap Analysis, Quality Planning)
  • Assists Manufacturing in troubleshooting and solving problems related to daily production
KEY EXPECTED ACHIEVEMENTS
1) Industrialization (lab to full scale production) and management of associated risks:
  • For material projects, participates in material property/tire performance risk analysis, manages the production/efficiency risk analysis and associated action plans in his/her domain, and provides elements for technical validation.
  • Responsible for the local trial activities for assigned industrialization projects - local risk analysis, trial planning, entering necessary information into systems (quality, automation), following trials, providing feedback from trials.
  • Collaborate with others to solve problems and overcome challenges that occur during the industrialization process
2) Technical Support for Manufacturing:
  • Assists the workshop to solve “production” issues requiring a simple methodology (5 Why, 6M analysis)
  • Contributes to the improvement of the performance indicators of the workshop when a new industrialization is required.
3) Work Methods/Guides and Tools:
  • Applies known central work methods/guides in his/her domain
  • Leads and/or contributes to the impact analysis for local implementation of new or updated work methods/guides
  • Uses digital industrialization tools as needed during the course of industrialization projects (collecting data, filtering and analysis of data through digital tools).

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Seeking candidates with BS in Engineering (Mechanical, Process or Chemical preferred) Chemistry or Physics.
  • The position is open to new College graduates, however, Internships, Co-Ops or previous work experience in a manufacturing environment are a plus.
  • Effective problem-solving skills, with experience with troubleshooting and root cause analysis for systems and processes being a plus.
  • Willingness to work in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of how to use Microsoft Office Tools (Outlook, Excel, Word, Power Point.
