Role Overview
As a Software Developer specializing in Unreal Engine, your role is pivotal in shaping how we harness Unreal's capabilities to meet the diverse demands of Virtual Production, VFX, LBE and TV production.
We are is seeking a talented Software Developers to join our development team for a ground-breaking mobile app for Virtual and Augmented Reality filmmaking. In this role, you'll play a vital role in creating, and optimizing the visual fidelity and performance of the VR/AR filmmaking experience, working closely with designers, programmers, and other TAs.
Responsibilities
· Develop core features functionalities, user interaction systems, and content management features specifically tailored for VR/AR filmmaking within the Unreal Engine framework.
· Integrate and leverage Unreal Engine's built-in features and tools (e.g., networking, UI framework) to enhance the app's functionality.
· Implement features and functionalities based on user feedback and testing results.
· Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to art assets, rendering, and VR/AR optimization within Unreal Engine.
· Stay up to date on the latest advancements and best practices in Unreal Engine development, particularly with a focus on VR/AR development.
· Contribute to the development and optimization of internal tools and workflows specifically tailored for the VR/AR pipeline.
· 3+ years of professional UE development experience
· A strong grasp of Unreal Engine, from Blueprints to core C++ modules
· Strong modern C++ skills (C++17/20)
· Proficiency in modern Python and relevant frameworks and libraries
· Familiarity with source control systems and collaborative development, git and perforce.
· Proficiency in both Linux and Windows operating systems
· Proactive and self-driven work ethic, comfortable in an agile environment with multiple priorities
Bonus Skills & qualifications:
· Experience working on VR/AR projects in Unreal Engine.
· Expertise in a specific area of Unreal Engine (e.g., lighting, materials, VFX) relevant to VR/AR development.
· A passion for mobile technology and the potential of VR/AR applications
· Experience with modern Graphics APIs such as D3D12 and Vulkan
· Experience profiling, debugging and optimizing GPU and CPU code
· Familiarity with shading languages HLSL/GLSL
· Experience with integrating hardware / software APIs and common communication protocol
