The candidate for this role will be responsible for overseeing the DRS Chemical Program & Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) process.
- Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 3 years demonstrated experience
- Solid understanding of business processes and functional inter-relationships
- Strong background in project material management
- Extensive experience in production planning and/or chemical/consumable management
- Experience in production planning/materials management in a manufacturing environment
- Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office (Excel, Power Point, Word, Power Query)
- Experience in managing database solutions
- Strong understanding of ERP systems
- Ability to obtain and retain a security clearance is required
- Maintain DRS Chemical database (WASP) including but not limited to the testing and bar code management functions
- Monitor the 30/60/90 day expiration warnings
- Maintain accurate inventory of chemical stock located both in SC and RW buildings, including the manufacturing floor
- Responsible for all Order on Request Chemicals (not previously established with a min/max)
- Submit routine orders to multiple Chemical Management Companies based on usage rates and established reorder policies
- Develop and maintain relationships with VMI and Chemical providers
- Able to research and find alternate suppliers of qualified commodities
- Create reports for distribution to program office, customer visits, and management.
- Proactively mitigate chemical shortages and other potential constraints that would lead to manufacturing disruptions
- Coordinate engineering changes with purchasing and production to ensure disposition of obsolete or expired material
- Improve current system, functions, and daily operations to more effectively meet goals
- Review the schedule and ensure the raw materials are available when needed
- Develop a forward-looking plan to create purchase requisitions and monitor material deliveries to support the IOP.
- Ensure all outside services are planned and monitored
- Work closely with EHS for HAZMAT and other chemical disposal
- Support, communicate and defend the mission, values and culture of the company
- Other duties as assigned
- Ability to lift 25 lbs up to 20% per year
