Job Description

The Planner works in a collaborative, cross-functional environment to ensure inventory integrity, schedule accuracy and manage suppliers. Participate in continuous improvement projects to improve cost, inventory levels, and supply chain performance.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to, the following.

• Place purchase orders with suppliers and follow up when necessary to avoid stockouts.
• Ensure the accuracy of purchase order due dates.
• Promise customer orders based on the availability of material and capacity.
• Release production orders to manufacturing based on material availability and capacity.
• Work with manufacturing to ensure on-time delivery of products.
• Maintain material stability within capacity requirements and minimize inventory levels utilizing planning concepts, inventory management, and lean tools.
• Maintain master data in SAP as required to support the supply chain process.
• Develop and maintain metrics reports for key performance parameters including inventory analysis, schedule adherence, on-time delivery performance, and special assignments.

• Required (Basic) Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain & operations management or a related field is required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience with purchasing or planning.
• Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and MRP/ERP experience; prior experience with SAP a plus
• Experience with inventory management, purchasing, and/or supply chain

• Preferred Qualifications

• APICS certification or commitment to attain.
• Experience working in a global supply chain environment.
