Purpose:

To find a highly energetic, positive leader to lead, manage, and deliver overall business results for the pultrusion operating plant. May be responsible for multiple and/or complex/changing pultrusion operations teams. Oversee, plan, direct operations and provide leadership to assigned areas and actively develops multiple leaders in pultrusion operations.

This position is also responsible for managing the site safety and AMS functions. This position also ensures that the assigned functional areas are operated in accordance with Andersen’s values, employee covenant and strategic direction.

Responsible for implementing strategies to foster a customer-focused, high performance, strategically aligned organization. Cultivates an environment of team development, professionalism, knowledge and sense of urgency that demonstrates our commitment to excellence.

Responsible for applying best practices by improving the performance, productivity, efficiency and profitability of departmental and organizational operations through the provision of effective personnel training methods and strategies. Contribute to short and long-term organizational planning and strategy.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day operations of complex and/or multiple operational areas in the pultrusion plant, and the key functional areas (Main Plant, Safety, AMS, Materials, Shipping, Storage and Distribution, Office Staff).
  • Act as liaison to coordinate and manage the distribution process.
  • Forge and build relationships with Corporate Partners. Collaborate with the Baraboo, WI pultrusion facility.
  • Manages Managers/Supervisors to ensure team provides site-level coverage and leadership during first, second, and third shift. Ensures that a wide variety of issues are identified and addressed appropriately, following company guidelines and practices (this may include supplier, productivity, safety, associate issues, etc.).
  • Deliver agreed results in the areas of safety, environmental compliance (EPA), quality, customer service, cost and associate satisfaction/development for all areas of responsibility.
  • Define and communicate performance targets for safety, quality, customer service and cost.
  • Develop and implement plans to provide process improvement in key areas defined above. Improvement initiatives will be aligned with Lean Manufacturing principles and the manufacturing strategic plan and corporate initiatives.
  • Establish an environment conducive to high levels of morale, associate satisfaction, and performance.
  • Deliver performance to budget. Use participative approach in budgeting process.
  • Ensure alignment of activities and resources within the Pultrusion operations functional areas. Ensure cross-organization collaboration and associate involvement where appropriate.
  • Acquire the appropriate people, technology, equipment and financial resources necessary to meet customer expectations and implement the business improvement plans. Support new process and product development and implementation.
  • Participate in negotiations with suppliers regarding issues that impact the Pultrusion Operations: prices, quality, customer service, etc.
  • Be highly visible to associates and create a safe environment for participation. Promote active/hands-on management to solve problems and promote high involvement approaches to problem solving.
  • Establish visual management techniques to manage the Pultrusion Operations.
  • Mentor developing Managers, Superintendents and Supervisors by providing coaching, information, ideas, feedback, and encouragement to associates and managers to promote the growth and development of the Pultrusion teams.
  • Make the best possible use of company data and information, control procedures and work schedules as they apply to managed business section.
  • Establishes realistic goals and programs for attaining results for departments and supervisors in managed business section.
  • Maintains good employee relations in managed business section by seeing that policies and procedures are understood and applied in a fair and uniform manner.
  • Sees that the best interests of the corporation and majority of associates get first consideration in resolving isolated problems in managed business section.
  • Continued personal growth and development. Role model supporting the value of continuous learning.

Qualifications:

  • 4-year degree or equivalent
  • 8 – 10 years of supervisory or leadership experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of world-class (Lean, Safety, Quality, Manufacturing)

SALARY INFORMATION

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to work experience, education, geographic location, certifications, etc. In addition to your pay, Andersen Corporation currently offers benefits such as comprehensive health benefits, 401k contribution, paid time off, 8 paid standard holidays, plus 2 floating holidays, a robust employee Wellbeing program, as well as profit sharing (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).

In 2023, Andersen has set a profit-sharing target of $4,000 per eligible employee, prorated as appropriate. Profit sharing will be paid out in quarterly installments to provide eligible employees with payments throughout the year, with payment amounts tied to quarterly operating profit performance.

Pay: $125,000.00 - $180,000.00 per year
