Plant Maintenance Supervisor

Job Title: Maintenance Supervisor Department: Maintenance

Type of Role: Small Department Lead

Reports To: Maintenance Manager Direct Reports: 7

Job Location: Valdosta, GA Job Level: Supervisor

Position Summary:

To provide leadership, management, and technical support for all maintenance activities associated with bakery plant operations. Responsibilities include the management of an annual capital plan, the administration of a repair and maintenance system and budget, ensuring environmental compliance, and the training and development of management and non-management personnel within the maintenance department.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversees maintenance operations for a commercial baking facility consisting of hourly associates
  • Analyzes and solves technical maintenance issues.
  • Leads the achievement of a zero injury workplace by ensuring safe working conditions for associates and compliance with all state and federal regulations on environmental, health and safety issues.
  • Manages and develops plant maintenance programs to ensure minimal downtime.
  • Ensure associates have the tools, resources and capabilities to succeed and deliver on expectations.
  • Identifies, implements and manages capital improvement projects.
  • Conducts performance appraisals of the Maintenance management team; recommends and/or implements appropriate training programs to address developmental needs.
  • Will be familiar with and utilize the CMMS to analyze data, generate reports and implement actions to improve KPIs.
  • Administers and audits all Maintenance safety control programs.
  • Administers and audits all Maintenance environmental protection programs.
  • Develops technical training programs for maintenance supervision and mechanics.
  • Develops short and long term planning, objectives, programs and goals and department budget and cost controls.
  • Ability to develop and maintain optimized interdepartmental relationships.
  • Manage and achieve set goals for the management of the MRO system and processes.

Education and Work History:

  • Associates Degree or Technical Degree: Electrical or Mechanical crafts preferred(not required)
  • Proficient computer software skills: Excel, word, CMMS, email
  • 5 or more years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, refrigeration, electrical and building maintenance.
  • Must be highly organized with project management experience
  • Must be dependable, flexible and self-motivated.

Education/Certification:

Associates Degree or Technical Degree: Electrical or Mechanical Crafts preferred

Experience:

4 years in the maintenance industry with at least 2 years Maintenance Supervisor experience

  • Thorough knowledge of safety, maintenance, maintenance procedures
  • Knowledge of bakery operations and production equipment
  • Computer skills-proficient with Microsoft Office (word, Excel, PowerPoint, Sanitation software)

Training/Other Knowledge in Mechanical Crafts

Qualifications and Skill:

  • Supervise and motivate Maintenance associates in a team-based environment and interact effectively with associates at all organizational levels
  • Communicate and coordinate effectively with internal and external organization verbally and in writing
  • Read and process written information with a high degree of accuracy
  • Work effectively in a general business environment, with a focus on high levels of quality and customer Service
  • Good English communication skills (both written and oral). Bi-lingual is preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Must possess the highest possible standard of ethics
  • Demonstrate good organizational and time management skills.
  • Take initiatives and be self-motivated; looking for opportunities to improve plant maintenance procedures
  • Use systematic methods to collect facts and make decisions.
  • Understanding of the fundamentals of a regulatory compliance sanitation system

Pay: $64,400.00 - $83,700.00 per year
