Play It Again Sports has locally owned and operated locations in Carmel and Fishers that are focused on serving the community. We buy, sell, and trade used and new sports goods and fitness gear, providing exceptional customer service every day. Our team specializes in various sports, including fitness & exercise, football, baseball & softball, volleyball, ice and field hockey, lacrosse, bicycles, track & field, winter sports, and soccer.

Role Description

The Retail Sales Assistant Manager will be responsible for supporting the Store Manager in daily operations, sales strategies, and team leadership. You will manage the sales floor, ensure high levels of customer satisfaction, assist in merchandising, and handle inventory management. The Assistant Manager will also provide training and development for staff, help achieve revenue goals, and maintain an organized store environment. This role requires a positive attitude, strong leadership skills, and a passion for sports.

  • Proven experience in retail sales or customer service, preferably in a management role
  • Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and coach team members
  • Good organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of sports equipment and related products is a plus
  • Able to lift 50 pounds unassisted
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and have reliable transportation
  • Willing to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Hours and Pay

  • Operational Hours: Monday - Friday 10 AM - 8 PM, Saturday 10 AM - 6 PM, Sunday 12 PM - 5 PM.
  • Closed Major Holidays (New Year’s Day, Easter, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas).
  • Schedule will include at least one weekend day shift per week and provide one weekday off per week.
  • Competitive hourly rate at 30-40 hours weekly, with option for raise and/or promotion.
  • Daily work schedule will vary depending on needs of business and time of year.

Pay: Starting pay $12 - $17/hour depending on experience

Expected hours: 20-30 per week
