About the Role:

• Plumbers perform skilled plumbing work in the installation, maintenance, repair, and replacement of District plumbing equipment, devices and fixtures.

Job Duties:

• Installs, replaces, maintains, and repairs plumbing systems, equipment, appliances, controls, and fixtures including water, gas, and sewer installations.
• Works from sketches, drawings, and blueprints to install, maintain, and repair equipment, devices, and fixtures such as vacuum breakers, backflow devices, gas appliance safety controls, gas piping to steam tables, plumbing fixtures, drains, sinks, sumps, circulatory pumps, water heaters, and showers.
• Installs, maintains, and repairs gas piping systems for space heating.
• Installs, maintains, and repairs automatic, semi-automatic, and manually-operated lawn-sprinkler systems.
• Installs, maintains, and repairs air and gas welding systems

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

Graduation from high school or evidence of equivalent educational proficiency.

Experience:

Successful completion of a recognized plumbing apprenticeship program or five years of experience in plumbing construction, installation, alteration, or repair work, of which one year must have been at the journey-level.

Additional Requirements:

A Los Angeles City Journeyman Plumber License OR A Los Angeles County Certificate of Registration as a Journeyman Plumber.
