Software Engineer Intern- Simulation

We are seeking a software engineer intern with expertise in deep learning, statistical sampling, and vehicle behavior modeling. In this role, you will apply data-driven techniques to develop a robust framework for evaluating and verifying data-driven scenario generation methods for autonomous vehicle testing. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to advance autonomous driving technology and drive innovation in simulation and model development.


Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop data-driven methods to generate realistic and challenging edge-case scenarios.
  • Analyze the fidelity, diversity, and coverage of generated scenarios in comparison to actual driving data using statistical metrics, domain-specific criteria, and simulation-based verification. 
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to improve scenario generation algorithms, smart agent models, as well as traffic generation mechanism.


Required Skills
  • Pursuing MS or PhD in mechanical, electrical, aerospace engineering, physics, computer science, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of domain randomization, probabilistic and statistical methods. 
  • Experience with autonomous vehicle or robotics simulation and related concepts.
  • Background in autonomous vehicle prediction, planning, control, and simulation tools.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a team setting.


Preferred Skills:
  • Experience in simulation fidelity verification and edge-case generation for autonomous vehicle testing.
  • Familiarity with state-of-the-art deep learning models and their applications.
