Senior DevOps Engineer

At Polycam, we're assembling an infrastructure team that collaborates closely with the engineering team, acting as both its peer and client. Our objective is to enhance their efficiency, streamline changes, and bolster application stability and observability through automation. This team will possess deep expertise in cloud architecture and CI/CD best practices, leveraging application development as a vehicle to implement these principles effectively.

We are seeking a seasoned software engineer with a keen interest in cloud infrastructure and configuration management; and a passion for tackling the distinctive challenges inherent in working with 3D data and machine learning. The ideal candidate will thrive on the opportunity to solve diverse infrastructure issues, displaying a strong interest in crafting internal tools and relishing the art of simplifying complex problems. 📌 Salary Range

The salary range for this position is $175,000 – $225,000. We take into consideration an individual's background and experience in determining final salary- therefore, base pay offered may vary considerably depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The compensation package includes medical, dental, vision, financial, and other benefits and equity.

📌 Responsibilities

• Identify performance bottlenecks in our current infrastructure and applications, and implement optimizations to improve efficiency, scalability, and response times
• Ability to refactor or replace existing devops systems while minimizing disruption time
• Design, implement, and maintain automated infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and deployment pipelines using tools like Terraform
• Develop and optimize CI/CD pipelines to streamline the software delivery process, ensuring rapid and reliable deployment of applications
• Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure on GCP, including provisioning, scaling, monitoring, and cost optimization
• Set up and maintain monitoring and alerting systems to ensure the health, performance, and availability of infrastructure and applications using tools like Datadog
• Deploy and manage containerized applications using Docker and container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes, ensuring scalability, reliability, and resource efficiency
• Collaborate with development, operations, and other teams to design, implement, and troubleshoot infrastructure solutions, and maintain comprehensive documentation

📌 Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience as a DevOps engineer or site reliability engineer
• Strong scripting and automation skills using languages like Python, Bash or Perl
• In depth knowledge of git including branching strategies and submodules
• Experience using C++ (including CMake), iOS and Android build toolchains
• Extensive experience with containerization technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, stc
• Strong proficiency in cloud platforms and services such as GCP and Firebase
• Deep understanding of infrastructure as code (IaC) principles with tools like Terraform
• Expertise in CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions or GitLab CI
• Experience with machine learning frameworks and deployment workflows
• Proficient in monitoring and logging tools like Datadog
• Knowledge of security best practices for cloud environments

🌟 Bonus Skills 

• Experience with deploying apps to the iOS App Store and Google Play Store
• Familiarity with 3D data processing and reconstruction pipelines
