Polygon Labs is a software development company building and developing a network of aggregated blockchains via the AggLayer, secured by Ethereum. As public infrastructure, the AggLayer will bring together user bases and liquidity for any connected chain, and leverage Ethereum as a settlement layer. Polygon Labs has also contributed to the core development of several widely-adopted scaling protocols and tools for launching blockchains, including Polygon PoS, Polygon zkEVM, and Polygon Miden, which is in development as well as Polygon CDK.
As a Senior Accountant at Polygon, you will support the Finance and Accounting team in maintaining the books and records of the Polygon Companies. You will be directly involved with account reconciliations, month end close, process improvement, technical accounting and ad hoc requests.
Execute month-end close processes, including but not limited to, preparation of journal entries, account analyses and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts within a complex entity structure
Assist Accounting Manager in documenting and researching complex technical accounting topics
Provide oversight to AP Team members for GL coding on an ongoing basis
Oversee the correct coding and compliance with respect to out of pocket and credit card policy
Coordinate with external accounting and advisory firms on ad-hoc tasks as assigned by management
Identify and implement process improvements within accounting operations
Bachelor's degree in accounting, business management or finance
1-2 years minimum, of crypto accounting experience in a complex organization
2+ years of Netsuite experience
Working knowledge of tax laws and GAAP
Willingness to work independently, take initiative and be a self starter
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Strong organizational management skills
Proficiency in Google Suite, particularly with Sheets
CPA - for advanced technical accounting and advisory responsibilities
Working knowledge of IFRS
Experience researching complex accounting topics within FASB codification
Consolidation experience in a multi-entity international firm
Personal Interest in Crypto / Web 3.0 space
