The laboratory of Professor Philip Low at The Institute for Drug Discovery, Purdue University has an immediate opening for several talented and motivated chemists to carry out synthetic organic chemistry as postdoctoral fellows.
The post doctoral fellow will carry out research focused on the design, synthesis, testing and development of novel ligand-targeted drugs for treatment of major human diseases. The candidate will employ both established and new synthetic strategies to prepare the desired small molecules and then test the efficacy of these drug conjugates in both cultured cells and small animals. In cases where the candidate is unfamiliar with the biological methods, he/she will be trained appropriately. Thus, the ideal candidate will be willing to learn new methods and then be able to manage multiple projects in both chemical and biological areas.
