POWER Engineers, Inc. is seeking a Power Delivery Business Development Director, with a regional client focus. There are immediate openings in the South Central Region and preference will be given to applicants that reside near one of our offices in the following locations: Fort Worth, Texas - Austin, Texas - San Antonio, Texas - Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The location for these roles is flexible, with easy access to our offices and clients within a region. The candidate selected for this position may work remotely full-time at a location other than a POWER Engineers designated office/job site. Employees may travel to a POWER office for periodic meetings.
This position will be responsible for developing new and existing business with clients; increasing or establishing an industry presence; identifying new initiatives, service areas, and industry trends; tracking business development costs, and other related duties. Detailed responsibilities include but may not be limited to:
Client Business Development
- Identify new clients for pursuit. Work with Project Managers to market these new clients and establish initial engagements. Help to expand engagements and develop clients.
- Support Project Managers in their marketing and relationship development with existing clients. Get to know the client’s organization and structure.
- Identify the mechanisms for capturing work, MSA cycles and key competition for each sector of business.
- Assist Project Management Directors and Project Managers with maintaining and expanding relationships with key clients, with specific focus on client staff at or above the manager level including Directors, VP’s, and C-Level Executives.
- Track status of large projects and programs. Identify emerging large opportunities and document and track them in CRM. Lead pursuit of selected large opportunities.
- Lead the development of regional and client-specific business development and marketing plans. Lead the execution of these plans.
- Gather information on clients’ issues, goals, capital budgets, etc. Advise our management and PM’s.
- Network with contractors. Identify potential EPC opportunities and teaming possibilities.
- Identify Project Developers. Develop relationships.
Financial
- Track BD costs. Ensure reasonableness of investments.
Industry Presence
- Identify appropriate regional industry organizations and events that POWER should be involved in. Join the selected organizations, become involved in their activities and drive POWER’s engagement.
- Identify conferences that POWER should be represented at. Help in identifying appropriate attendees. Attend select conferences.
- Work to have significant networks throughout the industry as a source of market information.
New Initiatives and Service Areas
- Assist in achieving Power Delivery Strategic Goals identified in annual business plan.
- Help identify new initiatives. Assist in the preparation of marketing plans for these initiatives and assist with executing the plans.
- Assist other Divisions of POWER Engineers in pursuit of new clients and opportunities.
Industry Trends
- Help with identifying information that should be collected and disseminated within the company to assist in our business development.
- Help identify industry trends and information that is important to POWER’s decision-making. Disseminate this information internally to the relevant people.
Other
- Attend overhead lines, underground lines, substation, distribution, SAS (SCADA and Analytical Services), program management, and renewables internal SST meetings and contribute to discussion.
- Establish rapport within the region with project manager directors, project managers, project engineers and business unit leaders with a goal of working together as a team to develop, track and execute business development goals.
- Provide input on proposal Go/No-Go decisions.
- Assist on preparation of major proposals.
- Help identify potential Recruits and assist in recruitment process.
- Help with the continuous improvement of our proposal process – including identifying and coordinating appropriate training.
- Bachelor’s degree is required
- Demonstrated competence in client development and client relationship management
- Outgoing personality and positive attitude
- Prior sales or seller/doer experience
- Fifteen (15+) years of industry experience
- Knowledge of and existing relationships with electric utility customers in this region desired
- Prior technical background and/or project management desired
- Demonstrated competence in client development and client relationship management

Salary DOE: The pay range for this position is $165k - $195k per year; however, base pay may be higher or lower depending on the candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This figure does not include additional compensation such as health benefits, vacation, 401k, etc.
