Our Client, a World recognised and respected Automotive OEM Manufacturer based in rural Warwickshire are actively seeking a Powertrain Programme Manager. On offer to the successful candidate is a negotiable basic salary (albeit dependent on experience), along with a full benefits package.
You will be the figurehead of your given PT Program, leading the 150 strong team, to the delivery of all PT Attributes, Commodities and systems to the Vehicle and ultimately our customers.
Key Duties & Responsibilities (but not limited to):
- You will be the figurehead of your PT Program, ensuring on-cost, on-time and on-budget delivery of all PT Attributes, Systems and Commodities, leading interaction with PT seniors and the Vehicle team
- Early PT Program Strategy input, proposing the powertrain configuration and attributes to be deployed into vehicle
- You will also, define and agree PT content of the program, including commodity carryover v’s new planning
- Cascade of program rationale and targets into the wider PT organisation
- You will ensure Lessons learned from previous projects are being appropriately applied
- Track commodity development (including definition, design, test and release) ensuring robust delivery from the respective teams
- Lead the PT Programme meeting cadence and reporting for you program both internal to PT and outwardly to Vehicle team customers
- You will run Powertrain delivery Gateways, reporting to Head of PT Programmes & Director of PT Hardware
- Support vehicle gateways with required information, ensuring timely and robust delivery and supporting vehicle timing plans
- Track Purchasing activity to ensure support of PT delivery both in terms of timing and costs
- Build and Manage the PT Program budget (alongside finance team) covering tooling, material costs, engineering and manufacturing, ensuring that financial status is always clear and on track
- Issue resolution and arbitration between PT teams and across wider vehicle application
Qualification & Experience (you will ideally possess):
- Previous experience of delivering technical programs comprising of several interconnected commodities/systems
- You will have extensive experience of leading a cross functional team, including complex issue resolution ability, risk evaluation and decision making
- Great knowledge of Product Development Processes including scoping, requirements, sourcing, design verification, system integration, tooling, and releasing and production part approval
- Good Engineering background and solid knowledge engineering principles, ideally with a good background in Automotive
- Knowledge of automotive quality processes (as a minimum 8D, and ideally APQP or similar)
