As a Global Quality Director, you will develop and implement global strategic and tactical plans to drive the Global Quality Transformation efforts of the Aerospace SBU. You will deliver standardized and compliant Quality Management Systems for the SBUs Transparencies, Coatings and Sealants, Engineered Materials Facilities, and the Application Support Centers globally.Key Responsibilities• Enhance the Aerospace Quality Culture:• Work collaboratively with the Aerospace Leadership Team to create and sustain an Aerospace Quality culture; providing appropriate levels of governance and leadership.• Promote product safety, quality essential rules and risk-based thinking approach.• Achieve Zero defect mindset, tackling critical SBU issues by using appropriate quality tools to identify root causes and execute permanent corrective actions.• Drive the Global QMS:• Lead the planning, sustainment, and continuous improvement of SBUs Quality Management Systems (QMS) in compliance with applicable Aviation Safety regulations, Customer, Industry and Aerospace standards and requirements; maintaining and achieving site approvals and qualifications consistent with SBU strategies.• Provide systemic analysis of QMS data from the business and/or site management review processes, based on defined leading QMS Key Performance Indicators (KPIs); ensuring that necessary actions are taken when deviations to plans arise.• Focus on standardization of processes across the SBU through the deployment of an electronic Quality Management System (eQMS).• Lead the Quality Organization across the SBU• Establish and maintain a World Class Quality Organization.• Direct Management of the Global Quality Function and its Specialists.• Develop talent within the organization• Develop the Global Quality vision• Provide Quality Policy and objectives for the SBU.• Establish a Global Quality roadmap shared with Platform, Sales, Operations, and Science &Technology functions to ensure organizational alignment and focus on.• Seek cross-SBU alignments to further the Continuous Improvement and Quality Culture of the SBU.• Represent the Global Quality Function• Provide a Quality Face to the Customer.• Oversee the SBU Quality Assurance teams that coordinate, plan, and host all Customer (2nd party) and Certification Body (3rd party) audits and assessments to ensure successful outcomes; support both facilities and functions in resolving any issues raised as a result of these audits.• Assist in future acquisition due diligence, and business integration needs.Qualifications• Candidates would benefit having diverse knowledge and experiences associated with the Quality requirements of process oriented and discrete manufacturing operations, as well as product distribution. Detailed understanding of Aerospace Quality Systems Standards certifications (AS9100, AS9120), Nadcap accreditations (AS7200/1 and /2) and civil aviation regulations approvals (FAA, EASA).• Practical experience utilizing Quality Problem Solving tools (9S methodology, Quality Clinic) to identify Root Causes and implement sustainable Corrective Actions (level 3 mistake-proofing).• Extensive knowledge of Aerospace OEM Specifications and technology background are desired.• Knowledge in coatings, sealants, transparency manufacturing in an aerospace industry is a plus.• This position requires at least 10 years of high level operational/quality leadership.• An engineering or chemistry degree and/ or equivalent experience is required.• Ability to develop good working relationships in a sophisticated matrix organization are crucial to providing the level of service vital to meet customer expectations, achieve business growth and improve SBU efficiency.• Approximately 30% travel, domestic and international.PPG pay ranges and benefits can vary by location which allows us to compensate employees competitively in different geographic markets.
