Our Prep Cooks are professionals who assist the back-of-house team in preparing food, maintaining a safe and clean food environment, and performing other culinary tasks as delegated. The ideal candidate is focused, driven, detail-oriented and comfortable working in a kitchen environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES

Follow the prep list created by chefs to plan duties
-
Label and stock all ingredients on shelves so they can be organized and easily accessible
-
Measure ingredients and seasonings to be used in cooking
-
Prepare cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat etc.
-
Undertake basic cooking duties such as reducing sauces, parboiling food etc.
-
Prepare simple dishes such as salads, entrees etc.
-
Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, taking out trash etc.

Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
-
Comply with nutrition and sanitation guidelines
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
-
Relevant culinary qualification and experience in either a hotel, resort, or quality restaurant
-
Sufficient education and literacy needed to identify and read product labels and to communicate with guests about job-related needs
-
Ability to read write and speak, and communicate in basic English preferred
-
Serv Safe certifications (can be acquired after employment)
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Must be able to work quickly and efficiently while under pressure

Must be able to work well as part of a team

Ability to maintain personal and kitchen hygiene

Knowledge of kitchen operations

Knowledge of proper sanitation methods

Ability to use sharp knives safely and proficiently
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be at least 18 years of age

Able to meet physical demands such as lifting at least 50 lbs. as well as standing on your feet for up to 8 hours
