MEDICAL RECEPTIONISTOur client is seeking a Medical Receptionist for their office located in Orland Park, ILFull Time, Temp-To-Hire$16-$22/hr. DOE8:00AM-5:00PM (8 hr shift M-F)This position serves as the liaison between the patient and the physician and is responsible for coordinating patient needs by providing assistance with questions, clinical data collection, and helping troubleshoot and problem solve issues as they arise.Main responsibilities will consist of answering phone calls from patients and addressing needs or communicating to relevant parties and then entering information into EMR or other tools as well as general back office tasks.At each patient touchpoint, complete processes in an efficient fashion, ensuring that the patient and family receive excellent service and are treated with utmost respect and care.Participate in programs for continuous quality, performance, and service improvement and work with department management to improve the services provided, through a team-based approach.Ideal candidate will be someone who is organized, efficient, comfortable working with multiple software systems, has excellent phone etiquette and communication skills, and works well in a team environment.REQUIREMENTS:High School Diploma1-3 years of job related experience in a clinic setting is preferred.FUNCTIONS:Communicates with patients and families in a telehealth or clinical setting according to company Standards of Behavior and Communication. Verifies patient identity using two patient identifiers (name and date of birth). Uses computer and phone technology by maintaining patient Information and status.Performs tasks associated with the clients patient care including but not limited to:• Make confirmation calls to ensure all visits are in “confirmed” status prior to visit or per Department protocol and align with the scheduling availability of the physicians.• At all times, maintaining patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements:• Confirm all patient personal demographic information• Confirm patient identification with two identifiers• Confirm legal guardianship• Confirm referral information for patient visit, if applicable• Prepare, completed and/or collect consents and all other required documents• Scanning important documents• Achieve Registration Accuracy of at least 95%• Schedule follow-up appointments utilizing to determine participation, if appropriate.• Throughout shifts, regularly communicate with clinical staffing the assigned work area regarding the status of patients as appropriate. Communicate with patients/families to ensure they have status updated on their appointments. Maintain computer and electronic system competency including but not limited to processes for: scheduling, appointment cancellations and order entry for clinical system, EOD status changes, work queue processing, linking referrals, posting “other” payments, use of scanner device and electronic insurance verifications.EXPERIENCE::medical clinic: 2-4 years (Required)LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:Certified Medical Assistant Certificate (Preferred)Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $16.00 - $22.00 Per Hour
