The Impact You Will Make
Be a bridge between (re)insurance industry needs and our core model development
Become an in-house Subject Matter Expert on the what/why/how of CyberCube products that clients and stakeholders can rely upon for in-depth understanding and analytical insights
Fully understand and be able to explain all aspects of cyber risk modeling software products to clients, as well as articulate use cases
Synthesize questions and feedback from clients, and bring recommendations to the Product & Analytics team to set future direction with the models
Apply advanced analytical methods to model development and application as well as train others on how to apply and maintain these approaches
Lead technical analysis on client portfolios to understand loss drivers and explain model outputs to clients
Provide change management enablement for cyber catastrophe clients
Foster a high-performance culture of learning and collaboration
Manage projects and advocate for a team of highly motivated actuaries to foster team and individual growth.
Communicate with a variety of stakeholders across the company on the inception, progress updates, and final deliverables of model development projects.
Closely collaborate with other Product & Analytics team experts (Cyber Risk Modeling, Data Science) as well as the Client Success team to make everyone successful regardless of role.
Prioritize short-term projects to meet the deadlines and deliver immediate value and manage the risk and expectation of long-term projects with potential future value.
Contribute robust internal and external documentation in the form of model documents, industry studies, informational videos, and code comments.
Grow and contribute to the actuarial community at CyberCube.
The Skills & Experience You Will Bring
You will bring experience in a variety of financial and insurance functions as part of a: consultancy, (re)insurance company, accounting firm, investment manager, etc.
You have familiarity with some of the following (re)insurance areas: pricing, underwriting, risk management, reserving, capital allocation, modeling, accounting, sales brokerage/distribution, data & analytics
You take a rigorous approach to problem-solving, demonstrated by the ability to structure a problem, consider alternative approaches, recommend a course of action and deliver exceptional results
You have demonstrated experience listening and communicating on complex and technical business problems at an audience-appropriate level
You bring intellectual curiosity and internal motivation, and you foster curiosity and collaboration among teammates
You are able to work with agility at a start-up pace under minimal supervision
You have earned advanced insurance certification as a member of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (AIA, AFA, FIA, FFA), the Casualty Actuarial Society (ACAS, FCAS), the Society of Actuaries (ASA, FSA), or a similar organization
The Extra Credit, or The Focus Areas You Will Develop
Strong awareness of commercial insurance issues including cyber insurance
Experience with catastrophe models: their frameworks, outputs and applications
Curiosity for understanding the cyber threat landscape
Experience with coaching or mentoring
Proficient in data analysis with Python, R, or MS Excel
Experience with data visualization in Tableau, Python, R, or MS Excel
Familiarity with database schemas and queries in SQL or NoSQL
Graduate degree in a related quantitative discipline such as mathematics, statistics, data or computer science, economics, financial engineering, etc.
