About the job:
Red Hat is looking for a Principal Ecosystem Development Manager to help us define, build and maintain a strong ecosystem of partners in the automotive in-vehicle market. As a key member of this team, you’ll have a significant impact on Red Hat’s future in this fast-paced and emerging technology sector. You will be chartered with defining, developing, and prioritizing key partnerships and partner plays with industry leaders primarily headquartered in North America. You’ll also work cross-functionally to build forward-looking partnerships that align with Red Hat’s strategic business objectives.
What you will do:
Identify and evaluate automotive in-vehicle use cases including infotainment and autonomous driving, and technology partnership opportunities strategic to Red Hat’s technologies and products through market research and analysis, external relationships and other means
Develop partnership and business development strategy based on your research, expertise and understanding of Red Hat’s strategy and goals
Develop compelling partnership frameworks and terms that benefit both Red Hat and our partners
Manage hardware, software, Tier-1 and OEM partner relationships from initial discussions and relationship management through agreement closing
Build strong, long-term relationships with partners to support the automotive vertical initiative
Lead agreement negotiations with partners and customers, including developing internal preparation of terms and working with cross-functional project management
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including partnering, engineering, legal, business operations, marketing and finance to support partnership development and management
Coordinate with members of Automotive product, technology and regional groups to understand needs for strategic partners (OEMs, tier 1 suppliers, cloud providers, ISVs, IHVs, public entities)
Build consensus for recommendations with internal teams and executives
What you will bring:
7+ years of experience in business development or partnership roles evangelizing leading technology
Strong viewpoint on technology ecosystem for the automotive vertical, including advanced driver assistance systems and infotainment
Proven track record in developing strategic partnerships and negotiating unique and creative partnership agreements with significant technical, legal and commercial complexity
Proven ability to handle ambiguity, work collaboratively with internal and partner contacts and influence cross-functional teams
Strong analytical and reasoning skills with technical, contractual and financial issues; impeccable business judgment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Comfortable communicating directly with senior executives (technical/product executive leadership) and in working in a fast-paced, sometimes unpredictable environment
Conceptual knowledge of modern cloud technologies such as containers
Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or graduate degree in a management, technical or engineering field a plus
