Job Summary:
RTRC AI System Engineering Team is seeking a Principal Research Engineer for Intelligent Systems with passion for making safe and secure AI-enabled systems. The team is engaged in a wide variety of research topics from Model and Design of Systems, Advanced Reasoning, Verification and Certification, Decision Making & Robotics, and Cybersecurity. The focus of this position will be to identify challenges in the development of dependable AI-enabled systems and create system engineering solutions for them. We are looking for people who will thrive in a dynamic work environment and enjoy working on hard, cutting edge applied research problems for both our Business Units and government funded projects. This position is performed with minimal supervision and requires a candidate with highly effective communication skills, a strong bias for action, and the ability to prioritize and advance multiple objectives.

Engineering/Other Technical Positions:
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
Requires advanced knowledge of work area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience. May have practical knowledge of project
management. Practical to substantial knowledge of RTX projects, programs or systems with the ability to make enhancements and leverage in daily work.

A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 6 years experience
Engineering/Other Technical Positions:
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
The salary range for this role is 94,000 USD - 196,000 USD; however, Raytheon Technologies considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.
