The Cobalt Sales Team is looking for an exceptional, highly motivated Principal Sales Specialist to actively seek out and engage client prospects for our private capital portfolio monitoring solution.
Responsibilities:
  • Establish relationships with C-level contacts, global department heads and key people with influence at each firm
  • Prospect aggressively to develop new clients and business through networking, referrals, company lead generation and cold calling / targeted email outreach.
  • Collaborate with Generalist Sales Managers and Client Relationship Managers to facilitate the top-down approach across targeted firms
  • Become knowledgeable about the client’s internal business areas, architecture, operations, and applications in order to manage expectations and develop trust/commitment with key decision makers. Create & articulate compelling value propositions around the use of the Cobalt GP PM platform.
  • Develop a universal knowledge of the Cobalt GP PM platform to facilitate product demonstrations to new and existing clients
  • Work with Product Strategy to ensure a solid 2-way feedback loop for product and solutions enhancements, development and ideas
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the finance industry, current market trends and economic factors in order to maintain a competitive edge and form sales strategies
  • Independently manage your own territory-based sales pipeline.
  • Conduct platform demonstrations with a focus on a variety of use cases across partners, finance, portfolio operations, deal teams and investor relations.
Required Skills:
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 5+ years of experience required (private equity / private capital or financial services sector strongly preferred)
  • Demonstrated people leadership experience
  • Proven ability to identify sales opportunities with new and existing clients.
  • Ability to reach out to leads through cold calling/targeted email campaigns and handle complex sales processes with multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience leading a consultative, relationship-based sales process.
  • Strong, effective presentation and communication skills, both verbally and written, to convey complex concepts to audiences with varying skill levels - in person, virtually, on the phone, and via email.
  • A deep understanding of financial services software usage and pain points for fund managers.
The budgeted salary range for this position in the state of Connecticut and New York City is $108,000 - $145,000.
