The Principal will work closely with the COO, CEO, senior leadership and other COPE Health Solutions team members to lead the development of consulting and other strategic opportunities, management of engagements and operational infrastructure for the area. Business development and engagements will generally focus on leading clients through the process of establishing population health competencies and capacity (achievement of the quadruple aim) through clinical integration that includes health care and preventive health delivery re-design, contractual alignment and financial incentive re-design.

Position Description:
-
Work closely with the COO and leadership team to accomplish the goals, objectives, and strategic plan for VBP Consulting and the company
-
In collaboration with the COO and in alignment with organizational vision, provide strategic direction and oversight for VBC consulting services, planned growth and service line development and maintenance
-
VBP consulting solutions and annual recurring revenue products business development, including development of targeted sales strategies and market research focused on enhancing market penetration and ability to create measurable ROI for target clients

Development of value-add consulting solutions, toolkits and enhancements to annual recurring revenue products for hospitals, health systems, government health care entities, health plans, mid- to large-size physician organizations/clinics, IPAs, CINs, etc. and FQHCs.
- Deep experience in Value-based Payment & Population Health Management including areas such as:
-
Value based payment and population health management strategic and operational planning (Value based payment roadmap for new to VBP or taking incremental risk) and implementation including health systems, medical groups, IPAs/CINs, health plans – including provider sponsored health plans
-
Clinical integration requirements and experience with planning, implementation and restructuring/optimization of CINs, IPAs, ACOs
-
Deep understanding of and experience with strategy, implementation and optimization of MSSP ACOs and ACO REACH
-
Medicaid managed care, Medicare Advantage, Commercial managed care and other managed care lines of business key revenue, growth and profitability drivers and considerations
-
MSO/TPA requirements knowledge and experience with gap assessments, implementation work plans, build or buy evaluation processes, actual implementations

Employee sponsored health plan experience – strategy, build, optimization, key considerations
-
Leveraging employee health plan (EHP) and TPA with IPA/CIN MSO and network to better align physician incentives, grow market share, streamline efficiencies and reduce admin cost while improving performance across EHP and VBP arrangements

Leveraging consulting advisory and implementation solutions into “land and expand” for annual recurring revenue products and also wrap-around to add revenue and profitability to ARR products already sold in
-
Proven capabilities, competencies and process in cross-selling of consulting and services, expectation is to drive cross and up selling through both existing VBP and health workforce accounts
- Take accountability for and manage all assigned aspects of VBP consulting and annual recurring revenue engagements and other assigned contracts and projects from scope definition to delivery, assuming ultimate responsibility for contract deliverables, project resourcing and budget management

Build and manage relationships with key executives and staff at client sites to ensure the success of the engagement(s), including maintenance of engagement through communication and project management/coordination with assigned clients and stakeholders

Development of scopes of work, pricing, agreements and when necessary formal proposals for VBP consulting and annual recurring revenue products

Support market research and sales strategy, taking lead where assigned, for VBP consulting and annual recurring revenue products
-
Provide support and coaching to company team members as assigned, including direct reports, in areas including general business/product development; market research; and provision of consulting services

Develop, update and disseminate thought leadership and marketing materials related to areas of expertise, such as managed care strategy, health plan operations and licensing, and clinical integration

Develop peer-reviewed articles, sales materials, case studies, internal curricula and trainings
-
Represent the company, and client(s) as appropriate, at various professional networking, public relations, business development and fundraising events

Provide excellent internal and external customer service

Ensure compliance with all local, state and federal regulations and ethical standards, as well as COPE Health Solutions employee expectations

Serve as a mentor to team members throughout the company

Qualifications:

Master’s degree (MBA, MPH, MHA or similar degree) strongly preferred
-
10+ years of work experience in managed care, strategy, clinical integration, policy implementation and/or related area in health care consulting setting

Experience working for a formal consulting organization required

Travel is an essential component of this position, 50-75%

- Experience in project management or training in project/program management methodology (PMBOK), PMP certification preferred
