West Monroe is seeking a Principal with current business / technology consulting experience to join our rapidly growing Supply Chain team in our Operations Excellence practice. West Monroe’s Operations Excellence practice is focused on driving value from strategy through execution—not merely pointing to best practices and standards. We enable clients to realize the enduring benefits of IT, business, process and organizational optimization by delivering real, sustainable adoption. Our solutions focus on value creation through the lenses of people, process, and technology across functional transformation and related platforms, productivity, and transformation enablement. Each consultant within our Operations Excellence practice is aligned to one of six focus areas including Financial Management, Organizational Change Management, Portfolio & Program Management, Supply Chain Management, Productivity, and IT Strategy & Business Process Outsourcing.
We are seeking a candidate with 7+ years of supply chain experience across M&A and operations. As a Principal on our supply chain team, you will serve our clients in several roles focusing on supply chain and technology assessments, cost-to-serve analysis, supply chain and manufacturing operations strategy development, and supporting Mergers & Acquisitions activities from an supply chain and operations perspective. You will also support our industry vertical teams, with the primary overlaps being consumer and industrial products, healthcare life science and private equity. In addition to client service delivery, you will be an integral part of our team that helps shape our practice culture through strategy, recruiting, team building, practice development, etc.
Responsibilities:
- Lead teams serving clients across industries, while demonstrating executive presence with C-level client counterparts
- Work with engagement leadership to implement operational processes and technology that support value creation and process efficiency across operational and technical functions
- Manage project economics including: setting and tracking project budget (e.g., estimate to complete, team utilization, etc.), creating invoices, management of collection process
- Mentor and manage teams of consultants and QA work done by the team
- Collaborate with local office leadership to define the office culture, strategic direction, and actively lead entrepreneurial activities in a new office environment
- Drive the development/enhancement of West Monroe’s Supply Chain Management methodologies
- Coach and manage other consultants and actively participate in the performance expectation process
- Actively participate in recruiting and retaining top quality consultants
- Initiate and lead business development meetings with prospective clients
- Creating work plans, pricing estimates, and risk assessments for prospects
- Actively build a professional network and affiliate network in the local community
- Attend networking events and business-related social events
- Identify farming opportunities at existing clients
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field preferred, or equivalent experience required in related discipline (e.g., Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Management Information Systems, Information Technology, etc.)
- Minimum of 7+ years participating on business consulting and IT project-based work / teams
- Minimum of 5+ years of managing complex operational and/or IT projects / people
- Minimum of 5+ years performing pre-close operational diligence for supply chain functions
- Strong project management methodology background, including schedule, scope, issue and risk management experience, change management, strategic planning and analysis
- Must have experience in developing work plans, project scopes, pricing estimates, and presentations to assist in selling work to clients
- Must have experience managing a variety of teams, including small engagements as well as large initiatives. Should have experience estimating project work and cost
- Must have experience with M&A pre-close diligence lifecycle and post close value creation
- Must have a desire and to develop new business and manage client relationships
- Experience farming new business from existing clients and managing day-to-day client relationships
- Strong analytical, problem solving, and client deliverable experience
- Strong organizational skills, detail oriented with ability to handle multiple projects and priorities
- Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communications and client relationship skills
- Candidates must be eligible to work permanently in the United States without sponsorship
- Ability to travel 50% is required

Based on pay transparency guidelines, the salary range for this role can vary based on your proximity to one of our West Monroe offices (see table below). Information on our competitive total rewards package, including our bonus structure and benefits is here. Individual salaries are determined by evaluating a variety of factors including geography, experience, skills, education, and internal equity.
Employees (and their families) are covered by medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan, purchase shares from our employee stock ownership program and be eligible to receive annual bonuses. Employees will also receive unlimited flexible time off and ten paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Ten weeks of paid parental leave will also be available for use after successful completion of one year of employment.
