Private Cloud Product Manager

Your Team:
The Private Cloud Product Management Team plays a pivotal role in defining the product strategy for Teradata’s on-premises and private cloud solutions.

Your Impact:
As a Private Cloud Product Manager at Teradata, you will help define and execute the product strategy for our on-premises private cloud solutions. You and the private cloud team will be responsible for understanding market needs, gathering customer feedback, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative and impactful solutions to meet our customer’s needs. Your focus will be on driving product excellence, maximizing customer satisfaction, and ensuring our solutions align with market demands and industry trends.

Role and Responsibilities:
Understand the private cloud ecosystem, markets, competition, and user requirements in depth.

Interact with partners to define market requirements and translate these requirements into product requirements that Teradata engineering and partner engineering teams can deliver within specification, on time, and within budget.

Collaborate with other private cloud Product Managers to define the roadmap for several engineering teams based on various external stakeholder feedback.

Break down roadmap initiatives into “Epics” with clear problem statements, proposed requirements, value proposition and acceptance criteria.

Engage with customers and key stakeholders on an ongoing basis to validate existing product requirements and evolve as needed.

Manage products through various launch phases and follow-on releases.

Work with other private cloud Product Managers to define and drive the business plan, strategy, and positioning of the services and solutions and work with internal and external partners to enable integration.

Work closely with Product Marketing, Support, Professional Services, Sales, and Operations to define the go to market plan and product collateral.

Qualifications:
BS in Computer Science/Engineering, MS/ MBA preferred.

3-5 years of Product Management experience in a software technology business or equivalent relevant experience

Experience with server, networking, and storage technologies

Experience with object storage and open table format market and solutions

Strong background with virtualization technologies and platforms such as VMware, KVM, OpenStack

Demonstrable experience making data-driven product/program decisions.

Strong collaborator & partnering

Excellent speaking-listening-writing skills with attention to detail

Entrepreneurial, energetic self-starter who can navigate through nebulous environments and work independently when required.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree plus 3+ years of Product Management experience in a hardware or software technology business -or- equivalent relevant experience
