Rate: £22.28 ph via an Umbrella Company (Inside IR35) or £17.10 ph PAYE

Employment Type: Contract (12 months)

Description:

The Programme Procurement Team are part of our client's Procurement Function. The Programme Procurement Team manages the interface between the teams delivering our client's Vehicle Programmes and Global Manufacturing Programmes and are responsible for ensuring that procurement tasks and plans are delivered as part of the Programme Deliverables and Key Gateways.

This role requires building strong relationships with Stakeholders within Procurement Teams (Buyers), Cross-Functional Programme Teams and Colleagues across the Global Programme Teams. The Procurement Analyst, with continuous focus on Cost, Quality, Delivery, Innovation and Sustainability, will support the Programme Procurement Manager, who is responsible for ensuring that the tasks or activities required to deliver the new vehicle or business programmes are understood and communicated into the Procurement team.

This includes:

  • Ensuring the Cross-Functional Vehicle Programme Teams and Direct Procurement or Centre of Competence (CoCs) are kept appropriately briefed on relevant strategy, processes and opportunities in order to derive maximum benefit for our client's business.
  • Ensure programme activities support Procurement and STA CoC delivery and compliance to Sourcing Deliverables for new vehicle lines and global infrastructure.
  • Enhance relationships across the CoCs with internal customers and stakeholders to provide the best overall outcomes from the supply chain whether they are technical, commercial or logistical.
  • Work alongside Architecture Management Colleagues to maximise the commercial input to the new vehicles and global growth.
  • Confirm Purchase and STA inputs into the Product Definition Letter (PDL) Process.
  • Obtain all the relevant Bill of Materials (BOM) and take rate details from Programmes in-time to support sourcing and capacity confirmation in-line with programme gateway deliverables and Global Sourcing Process (eGSP).
  • Represent Purchasing and STA function through programme meeting cadence and ensure commercial inputs and outputs are actioned in accordance with programme requirements.
  • Creating and managing metrics or communicating information to internal customers in timely and structured way.
  • Ensure that all cost deliverables have procurement input into the Programme Finances including cost opportunities, highlighting cost risk and associated mitigation plans.
  • Drive continuous improvement and problem-solving working with key stakeholders, internal customers and process improvement teams.
  • Make certain that all Procurement Teams are aware of the process inputs and drive Right First Time (RFT) delivery.
  • Working directly with the Procurement Teams to ensure that any risks to on-time sourcing are flagged, and work with the relevant stakeholders and input areas to develop plans to remove or mitigate the risk through collaborative working.
  • Corroborate any agreed changes to sourcing timelines to ensure they are in-line with the new project / programme framework / deliverables.
  • Appropriate escalation where sourcing timelines risk programme timing or deliverables.
  • Validate that all upstream inputs and dependencies are in place and within the overall plan, to allow outputs to be delivered on time, in particular in relation to the sourcing process requirements.
  • Represent the procurement through programme meeting cadence and ensure escalation for input requirements and status on outputs are provided in accordance with programme requirements (e.g. sourcing, cost management, capacity and facilities readiness).
  • Communicating programme changes for impact assessment in relation to Procurement Tasks or Deliverables.

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Apply Agile principles to capture and track all Procurement Deliverables.
  • Communicate Procurement Status Updates using Sourcing Data (metrics) to Internal Stakeholders including timely escalation of issues.
  • Drive sourcing on-time to commodity timing plans.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

  • Being part of a team who act as the voice and conscience of Procurement in Cross-Functional reviews or meetings supporting programme development, launch lifecycle of our client's Product Portfolio and Global Growth.
  • Candidate will be responsible for communicating the wants and needs of the Global Vehicle Programme Architecture Teams to determine how these can be best met by the Global Supplier Network. This will be achieved through close alignment and communication with Indirect Procurement and Direct Procurement, and the Business Office Teams.
  • Candidate will be responsible for following the defined processes and continuous improvement activities within Programme Management Teams.
  • Candidate will support the transformation of programme inputs and requirements into key deliverables for procurement.
  • Working closely with Cross-Functional Programme Team to develop and refine schedules.
  • Candidate will be responsible for ensuring processes deliver to cost, quality, delivery, innovation and sustainability targets.
  • Many of the processes are cross-functional and will require close working and Enterprise Leadership with Co-Workers and Colleagues across the Teams to ensure repeated success.

Key Interactions:

The candidate will be expected to build strong, practical, effective working relationships with Colleagues and Cross-Functional Stakeholders at all levels, in various interfacing areas, including:

  • Procurement Teams
  • Programme Teams
  • Interfacing Functions (e.g. Finance, Engineering, Manufacturing etc.)
  • Candidate will be expected to work with these Colleagues to support and drive continuous improvement to deliver in-line with processes.
  • Candidate will be expected to work closely with colleagues across Programme Procurement Team on process improvement initiatives.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
Essential:

  • Proven experience in using data to create metrics for onward cascade to stakeholders.
  • Proven experience in workload planning and execution management experience with demonstrable evidence of successful delivery in challenging cross functional environments.
  • Able to facilitate resolution of complex cross-functional issues via proven problem-solving methods and skill set.
  • Organised with excellent time management skills.
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Clear understanding of how to facilitate Cross-Functional Team to meet objectives with experience of working in teams and/or experience of Relationship Management.
  • Full UK Driving License.

Desirable:

  • Experience working in Agile, e.g., scrumm, kanban, JIRA system.
  • Previous experience of Relationship Management within Global Cross-Functional Teams would be desirable.
  • Professionally qualified, i.e. educated to Degree, MCIPS or Professional Programme Management Level with a proven track record in a Procurement, Cost Management, Programme Management or complex Business Environment.
  • Exposure to SAP / other ERP / MRP systems.
