Job Overview:
Coursera is hiring our first Procurement Manager role in its relatively new and growing central procurement team. We are looking for an experienced procurement leader to establish and improve procurement operational tools and processes, and build out the strategic sourcing/supplier contract negotiation process. Part of the Finance organization and reporting to the Procurement Director, this role is a perfect opportunity for a self-starter who is collaborative and strategic, enjoys diving into the details of contract negotiations and developing scalable processes. You will be part of the team that creates global sourcing strategies and world class procurement processes that drive growth, profitability and efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with department leaders / stakeholders to identify and execute on procurement sourcing projects from end to end including supplier evaluations, contract negotiation, contract review and approval, and contract management and archiving process.
- Focus on procurement operational excellence, manage and improve the Procure to Pay system and processes, and educate business partners on process compliance.
- Drive key strategic sourcing objectives such as hard savings and cost avoidance, and other value-add to the business, track and report performance against established OKRs on a quarterly basis
- Leverage market intelligence and spend analytics to influence sourcing decisions.
- Bring best practices to develop, implement, and manage procurement policies and processes that scale our financial operations.
Basic Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, supplier contract negotiations, and procurement operational process improvement.
- Experience in indirect sourcing categories such as IT, enterprise applications, marketing, facilities, engineering and HR is required.
- Proven record of collaborating effectively with cross-functional partners to lead process improvement.
- Experience in data analytics (spend report, cost analysis) using Excel and other analytics tools.
- Knowledge of purchase order and financial ERP systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, finance, or a related field. MBA is preferred.
- Prior experience in establishing and improving procurement operational and strategic sourcing processes.
- Proven ability to work in a cross-functional, fast-paced environment. Technology company experience is desired.
- Knowledge of NetSuite and/or Coupa is highly desired.
- Knowledge of Google Suite in an office environment.
