Procurement Specialist

About the Role

Manages the indirect, non-trade end-to-end procurement process and supplier relationship for various contracted services and commodities. Supports the Procurement BPO Strategy and acts as the first level Tier Escalation Point for the BPO operation. Acts as Source-to-Pay Subject Matter Expert for internal stakeholders and external partners. Assists management with the Company Purchasing Card & Travel Card Program.

What You'll Do
  • Reviews contract terms for risk assessment and collaborates with internal stakeholders & suppliers in the negotiation of finalized contracts.
  • Prepares and processes contracts for risk assessment and collaborates with business unit's management, executives and suppliers in the negotiation of finalized contracts.
  • Assists in expanding and managing the Procurement BPO Strategy for activities within Procurement Operations.
  • Monitors BPO team activities and resolves any end-user issues or irregular process discoveries.
  • Maintains effective relationships with key department stakeholders and external partners.
  • Oversees the indirect, non-trade end-to-end procurement systems, processes, procedures, and policies.
  • Responsible for managing category purchasing initiatives and category management.
  • Acts a Subject Matter Expert for Source-to-Pay (S2P) and Procure-to-Pay (P2P) as well as providing peer coaching to end-users.
  • Assists in the management of the Company Purchasing Card & Travel Card Program.
  • Responsible for managing communications and inquiries from the Procurement Inbox.
  • Participates in reporting, metrics, and projects.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • 3 to 5 Years of relevant work experience
  • Other Education / Certifications: Professional certification (e.g. ISM, GBTA, TBBTA) or active participation in a professional purchasing related organization preferred
  • Able to recognize and attend to important details with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Able to communicate clearly and convey necessary information.
  • Able to create and conduct formal presentations.
  • Able to interact effectively with all levels of management.
  • Able to negotiate skillfully, promote/sell ideas persuasively, and close transactions with mutually beneficial results.
  • Possesses strong leadership skills with a willingness to lead, create new ideas, and be assertive.
  • Possesses strong organizational and time management skills, driving tasks to completion.
  • Able to constructively work under stress and pressure when faced with high workloads and deadlines.
  • Able to maintain and promote social, ethical, and organizational standards in conducting internal and external business activities.
  • Able to build solid, effective working relationships with others.
  • Able to use relevant computer system applications at a basic level.
  • Proficient with Microsoft applications or related software.
  • Experience with Ariba or related S2P & P2P systems is a plus.
  • Experience with SAP Concur or related software is a plus.
  • Company Purchasing Card & Travel Card Program experience is a plus.
  • Experience with Category Strategy & Management , Contract Review, Contract Negotiations, and Risk Management are a plus.
