Product & Privacy Counsel

KAYAK & OpenTable are looking for a highly organized, motivated and energetic attorney to join our team as Product & Privacy Counsel to help tackle a diverse and exciting suite of matters related to the exciting industries in which we work - travel and dining.

The role may be fully remote or be based in any one of our KAYAK or OpenTable offices. This role is full-time; however, hours for this role can be flexible for those wishing to work a more flexible weekly schedule. This exciting role as a member of the KAYAK and OpenTable legal
team will involve advising the companies on a range of product and privacy legal initiatives and suggestions for its suite of products across the KAYAK and OpenTable brands. This will involve learning about and advising on the privacy aspects of new and modified features for products, identifying and investigating key privacy and regulatory issues, and coordinating with teams to provide practical, actionable advice that mitigates product risk under global laws.

• Prior experience working directly with partners throughout an organization including product, engineering, and privacy teams
• Exceptional facility with spotting issues, assessing and communicating risks, making common-sense decisions in the face of ambiguity, and finding flexible/creative solutions to achieve business goals
• Ability to balance multiple matters simultaneously and to respond quickly to shifting priorities under tight deadlines
• Excellent judgment, high integrity, and strong verbal and written communication skills,

• Adaptability and openness to taking on tasks in new or unfamiliar areas of the law
• Prior experience working at a technology company a plus (but not required)
• Language skills and/or multijurisdictional experience a plus (but not required)
