The Breakdown:
As a member of the Burton Product Creative – Art team, the Designer 2 will work as part of a collective that translates brand concepts into innovative design solutions that are authentic to Burton’s identity and brand values while driving a consumer-centric point of view in all bodies of work. They will manage design projects while working in collaboration with creative leaders, fellow designers, and cross functional partners to develop and execute cohesive ideas across all channels. A deep knowledge and passion for design and product are paramount to success in this role. The ideal candidate will have an interest in living an active lifestyle, snowboard culture, the outdoors, art, music, fashion, and experiences. Our crew thinks big and executes accordingly. What You Get to Do:
  • Work on the concepting and design driven execution of a wide range of hardgoods driven art and graphic related projects (boards, boots, bindings)
  • Brainstorm with the art team to build innovative ideas and solutions according to industry trends
  • Partner with design counterparts to ensure graphic assets follow along with the seasonal category & color direction
  • Supporting with softgoods art and graphic projects (allover prints, placed graphics) as needed
  • Work alongside external collaboration partners on special projects as they arise
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet the customer needs and assist in hitting margin targets to support brand goals
  • Ensure proper handover of completed art specs to development, including original artworks, scale, color breakdowns, execution information, and any contractual details
  • Ensure proper handover of complete contractual details to legal partners when utilizing external artists
  • Verbally presents graphic ideas and details with clarity in small groups and team meeting
  • Our HQ is based in Burlington, Vermont. We will offer relocation assistance to any candidate who is hired if they are able to move to Burlington.

What You'll Bring to The Team:
  • 2-3 years in an art or design-related role
  • Strong knowledge of graphic design, typography, pattern repetition, color theory, illustration, and/or content creation
  • Proven ability to effectively communicate and visually articulate concepts and creative directions
  • Ability to work on projects with multiple timelines and handover according to deadlines
  • A systematic approach and the ability to work in many different styles (hand-drawn to digital)
  • Self-motivator who can work independently as well as collaboratively
  • Expertise in the use of Adobe Creative Suite and Figma
  • Strong understanding of outdoor and snow industries with a passion for snowboarding
Our HQ is based in Burlington, Vermont. We will offer relocation assistance to any candidate who is hired if they are able to move to Burlington.
