As a Product Designer, you will join a small, fast-moving team working to create an astonishing user experience and user interface for the company’s remote driving application (native). In this role, you'll work closely with our Product, Customer Success, Remote Operators, Sales, and Engineering teams to ensure that remote operators are able to safely and effectively control various types of vehicles. This is an important Product hire as Design critically impacts operator training time and efficiency. Improving both metrics helps Phantom scale by making our operators into super users.

What will you do:

• Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and cross-functional stakeholders to define requirements, and provide creative, thoughtful design solutions for remote driving
• Translate abstract concepts into simple and elegant designs expressed in high-quality sketches, diagrams, rapid prototypes, and final design executions ready for engineering implementation
• Co-define our product roadmap and business strategy and create concept designs that make strategy concrete
• Be responsible for creating a safe, intuitive, and cohesive look and feel, as well as a smooth overall remote driving user experience
• Lead user research and usability sessions with customers and operators to explore workflows, uncover needs, and refine product design and direction
• Create and maintain Phantom Auto's modern design system that codifies best practices and supports all its product needs

Who you are:

• 5+ years of professional experience designing products with complex interactions
• You have a portfolio of past work including concepts, ideation, flows, and completed designs and final deliverables that demonstrate clear design thinking and craftsmanship
• You have experience in simultaneously managing multiple creative projects from start to finish, ensuring timely and impactful outcomes
• You like meeting people from all types of backgrounds and can build strong relationships with counterparts across the company
• You feel comfortable rolling up your sleeves to rapidly prototype (we currently use Figma, but are open to alternate software) as well as clearly communicating ideas to leadership while partnering at all stages of the process from planning to results
• You can tell when you’ve hit on the right amount of process and structure without it feeling stifling or unnecessary
• Be passionate about resolving user pain points through great design
• Any experience working with development teams across time zones is preferred
• Any experience in gaming; or applications with human computer interactions is preferred

The pay for this position has a range of $140,000-$160,000. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation such as bonuses and options.
