Product Engineer, Fullstack

As a Product Engineer at Postscript, you will utilize strong software engineering and product skills to build and maintain products across our backend and frontend systems. Our backend stack is a Python (Flask) API with a PostgreSQL database hosted on AWS, and our frontend stack is a modern React app that leverages Styled components, Storybook, and Cypress integration tests. Your passion for building great products, especially in early-stage companies, will lead you to have a meaningful positive impact on both the product and the company. We are massively scaling and growing our Engineering Team in 2021, and this is one of many positions available. All positions at Postscript are fully remote.

Primary Duties

• Build products that deliver customer value and/or business value through software engineering and product development skills
• Contribute to technical and product design decisions to get work done including weighting trade-offs of customer value, technical constraints, and business priorities 
• Work closely with others, including engineers, designers, and product managers as part of a cross-functional product team, to deliver a beautiful, world-class product
• Take ownership and get creative with your solutions

Requirements

• Experience building or directly contributing to a great product
• A proven career as a software engineer developing full stack applications
• Experience using Python (Flask and SQLAlchemy a plus) and JavaScript (React a plus) 
• Experience building applications on AWS services (Lambda, Elastic Beanstalk, and others)  
• Experience with relational databases, proficient in SQL, and experience with database modeling (PostgreSQL a plus)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, translating complex technical requirements into easy to follow direction and documentation
