Position Overview

EBSCO Learning is looking for an experienced Product Manager to help grow the EBSCO Learning business. They will help drive activities and initiatives to grow the revenue and profitability of EBSCO Learning. The Product Manager possesses a blend of business and technical knowledge. They are comfortable in working to investigate and understand market needs in order to develop innovative ways to improve existing products and develop new ones . The Product Manager is a very collaborative individual that builds and leverages a network of productive work relationships across the business. They will engage regularly with the leadership of EBSCO Learning and be part of a collaborative team. They will also work closely with Sales, Marketing and Customer Satisfaction and other teams to develop and execute on launch plans for both feature and product releases.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Works closely with the leadership and product management of EBSCO Learning on the development of product line strategies, product positioning, and key areas of product differentiation.
  • Coordinates and supports the development, building, testing, marketing, and selling of products/product lines across functions and teams for EBSCO Learning.
  • Develops plans and strategies to maximize sales and profitability for products/product lines.
  • Conducts competitive / industry analyses and organizes findings.
  • Provides input to EBSCO Learnings Corporate Strategy Review (CSR) plan.
  • Makes decisions and prioritizes in an evidence-based manner - gets input from key stakeholders and the market.
  • Focuses both on the improvement of existing products as well as the development of new ones, aligned with EBSCO Learning’s overall strategy.
  • Helps to define the product strategy and roadmap, and prioritizes feature development.
  • Develops and documents requirements for new features and new products, along with corresponding justification and evidence. Effectively communicates these requirements to Product Owners, Technology and other key internal constituents.
  • Utilizes both secondary and primary research in decision-making.
  • Keeps up with competition and competitive developments - is highly knowledgeable with respect to the competition.
  • Helps to manage beta and pilot programs with early-stage products.
  • Provides input and direction to marketing and sales. Helps to develop the core positioning and messaging for products.
  • Creates customer-facing product presentations and ensures content for marketing collateral is current and up-to-date.
  • Works with senior leadership to establish pricing strategies based on market information.
  • Delivers regular revenue forecasts, monitors the sales pipeline.
  • Monitors and is responsible for the product line P&L.
  • Develops budgets for areas of responsibility.
  • Briefs the EBSCO Learning Sales team and other key internal constituencies.
  • Attends industry-related conferences and engages with customers to inform the roadmap for new product and capability development.
  • Acts as the “messenger of the market” from the outside-in to the rest of the organization. Is a role model within EBSCO Learning.


Required Qualifications

  • 3-5+ years experience as a Product Manager or similar role.
  • Product management experience in one or more of the following areas: skills development, learning, education, workforce development, EdTech, training.
  • Excellent writing, communication and presentation skills.
  • Familiarity with Agile frameworks.
  • Organizational and leadership abilities demonstrating the ability to work collaboratively and effectively in a cross-functional organization.
  • Positive attitude and proven team player.
  • Excited to take on new responsibilities or try something new as opportunities emerge.
  • Outstanding flexibility, adaptability and sense of accountability.


Target Annual Compensation Range: $99,220 - $141,740. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, education, training, and experience, as well as the position’s work location.
