Product Onboarding Specialist

Job Summary:

The Product Onboarding Specialist is responsible for monitoring and analyzing master and transactional data in relation to the creation and maintenance of products. The individual adds value by understanding how the data is used and ensuring the data is accurate, complete, transaction ready and products are onboarded with speed to meet the business goals. The role assists the buying team in the review of item set up phase related to product samples, product set up, site merchandising and maintains reporting in order to track and ensure timely and flawless additions to the website. The position requires exceptional global master data knowledge, interpersonal skills, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-moving environment. This role will be part of the Purchasing and Merchandising team and will have a strong collaboration with the planning, MDM, Compliance, and Content teams.


Job Expectations:

  • Drive new product/brand onboarding process to ensure timely and quick addition to market.
  • Coordinate and execute Master Data creation and maintenance.
  • Provide governance services in support of master data management, hold suppliers and buyers accountable to Master Data standards and guidelines
  • Create items in SAP via MDM ticket and complete onboarding across all systems, Catalog, Pricing portal. Including product merchandising activities like groupings.
  • Create Brands in Catalog as they appear on the brands website and communications.
  • Manage the flow of new products into the sample room.
  • Maintain a daily log of newly arriving samples or items with no samples.
  • Communicate with the buying team to identify and prioritize select samples to on-board.
  • Coordinate the review process and exchange of products between teams, checking out and checking in to account for all product samples. And also track product samples shipments.
  • Review and utilize reports to support onboarding KPI's, manage the process and issues.
  • Assist the Sr. Purchasing Manager on onboarding related projects and day-to-day activities.
  • Comply with company policies and procedures, including safety, business ethics, and standards of conduct.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Developing and beginner level negotiating skills
  • Strong analytical, data management and decision making abilities
  • Strong mathematical skills with understanding of retail pricing concepts
  • Ability to communicate written and verbally in a professional manner with people at all levels of the organization and external contacts
  • Great attention to detail, highly organized
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, problem solve and prioritize with awareness of deadlines
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision
  • Excellent organization skills

Equipment Knowledge:

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with Google Business Suite (Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Forms) preferred

Experience Requirements:

Generally requires a minimum of one (1) to two (2) years of progressive experience in a directly related role with equivalent responsibilities, preferably in an e-commerce environment with natural products experience a plus.


Education Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field preferred, or a combination of education and equivalent work experience

The anticipated pay scale for this position can be found below, however the pay range applicable to you may vary by geographic location based on where the job is located or where you work. The final pay offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, the type of years and experience within the industry, education, etc. iHerb, LLC is a multi-state employer and this pay scale may not reflect positions that work in other states or locations.

Hired applicant may be awarded Restrict Stock Units and receive annual bonuses pursuant to eligibility and performance criteria defined in the respective plan documents and policies.

Anticipated Pay Scale:

$65,000—$115,850 USD
