About the Position

The Product Owner owns the product backlog and defines the strategic vision for their team driven by the overall vision, collaborating with a variety of business domain partners and supporting Product Managers (if applicable) to identify value-add solutions, unlock digital assets, and solve complex business problems. They have a deep understanding of the target market/industry and build close relationships with key stakeholders to ensure that the team’s effort is aligned with overall strategy. The Product Owner manages dependencies with other team’s functions while identifying, building, and managing strategic partnership across the different teams. They work closely within their team to ensure business value and user feedback is translated into new developments when necessary. Product owners will be accountable for specific business KPIs based on the area of the product they are focused on.

Responsibilities

  • Set ambitious and clear product vision and communicate it effectively to the team and all relevant stakeholders.
  • Supports Product Manager with future roadmap strategy and initiative definition (as applicable)
  • Lead multi-disciplinary development teams through the agile product development lifecycle.
  • Defines quarterly Objectives & Key Results (OKRs) focusing on high level business goals and implementing strategies to achieve results.
  • Communicates with business sponsors and supporting organizational teams through quarterly review sessions, roadmap “spotlights” and status updates as needed.
  • Accountable for product KPIs once solution enters production and communicates regular tracking to stakeholders.
  • Utilize market /industry knowledge to translate user needs into user stories and acceptance criteria for their team and maintain a backlog 3 to 4 sprints ahead of the team.
  • Works closely with business partners to establish each product’s business value and supports messaging, communication, and outreach as necessary.
  • Collaborate with business and technical partners to prioritize roadmap initiatives and releases.
  • Facilitates release planning with stakeholders as well as contributes to sprint demos (when necessary)
  • Integrates usability studies and research into product requirements to enhance user satisfaction and ensure customer driven design. Align outward facing product requirements & stakeholders.
  • Work with HR to recruit, interview and onboard new team members who can perform the job role, demonstrate the right skills, and experience and grow the capability of the team.

Domain Expertise:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 6-8+ years in Domain area of expertise required and 3+ years of experience with product management, agile and scrum preferred.
  • CPG experience required. Experience in Alcohol Beverage / Three Tier industry strongly preferred.
  • Revenue Management experience a plus.
  • Proven knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the relevant industry.
  • Strong collaborator with cross-functional teams from tech, design, and business.
  • Proven knowledge and understanding of standard precision practices, technology and supporting industry principles.

Agile/Digital Experience:

  • Experienced in facilitating agile ceremonies, managing a backlog/release plan, tracking team level metrics, removing blockers (burndown chart, release burn up, etc.)
  • Experience in working in an Agile Work Environment and leading agile teams, building, and fostering high performing agile teams including working with external resources, consultants, and vendors.
  • Deep experience leading with teams in an agile setting.
  • Familiarity with tools and platforms supporting Agile methodologies and ideation sessions (i.e. Jira, Rally, Miro)

Individual Skills:

  • Strong leader, collaborator, team player, and individual contributor.
  • Strong communication skills with comfort in speaking with business stakeholders.
  • Strong problem solver with ability to manage and lead the team to push the solution and progress.
  • Strategic thinker with a structured approach for eliciting requirements and prioritizing value of workstreams.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment

  • Sitting, working at desk/personal computer for extended periods of time.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.

The salary range for this role is:

$116,100.00 - $185,400.00

This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, the prevailing minimum wage for the location, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs. We offer comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, 401(k), and any other benefits to eligible employees.
